If I had high ceilings in my garage, I would seriously consider buying a lift rather making a large purchase like an SC or TT kit. I miss being able to do my own work. It seems even professional shops do some crazy sh*t.

I once walked into a shop up here called Synapse motorsports. I had them dyno the car. No AFR reading after some Mods were installed. I was curious what their dyno would read.

They were to install my Stillen underdrive pulley. I found my radiator out of the car with the mechanic with an impact gun on my crank bolt with the car in 1st gear. I asked the guy.... "Did you even bother to read the instructions I included with the part?" Mind you this guy use to work for Nissan as a mechanic! He says "No, I am experienced technician" So I pulled out the instructions which clearly state to the remove the starter and lockout the flywheel.

I told him I wasn't paying for any of it. To get my car together and off the lift. He's like well I have 2-3 hrs labor into it so far. What an idiot. I don't pay for stupidity. I'm lucky he didn't destroy my front seal.
Yes, the HFC's were used, drove about 15,000 miles like that. Crazy right?

I just don't see the point though, as first of all the mods they were putting on weren't technically street legal and they could just deny everything since the have the right not to incriminate themselves, and as for chewing them out for the hell of it, it doesn't accomplish anything...Idk that's just me though.

Haha nah. And the Z has tons of headroom compared to other "sports cars" I've had. I couldn't even wear a helmet in my old 240SX without cocking my head to the side.

There is absolutely no excuse for using a two bolt gasket on a three bolt header flange. That is just down right idiocy. File a report with BBB & send them the information needed. You should have tried to resolve it with the owner first though before purchasing other products.

Mechanic do so much work sometimes they half *** the job to get it over with. Or they take you for a sucker, do a crappy job at first to get you to come back and charge you double for "fixing" the problem.

My fiancee's friend took her car to a shop to get her alternator and pulley changed. Everything was fine for a day then the next the car died on the road. She asked me to check it out, low and behold they didn't tighten the bolt on the pulley and it came off. Also there was a wrench still there.
