Default HR 0-60 Times discussion

hey everyone, so today I was using my "Dynolicious" app on my ipod 4 and did some 0-60 runs and one quarter mile run. Current temperature was 32 degrees, but very low moisture. Before I state my times, I will say that the Dynolicious app is actually extremely accurate, and it uses the accelerometer in the ipod, which is superior to most gtechs and other accelerometers. It has also been verified to only be a couple hundreths (.01) of a second off if calibrated right and mounted firmly, which it was! So according to the app, I have been as tested by several magazines a time of 5.1 seconds 0-60. However, I have gotten under that and above that, and i can tell because it will feel like a good run or a bad run. Sometimes I have screwed up bad on the launch and got around 5.8 seconds. So, as for my lowest time, I achieved a 4.84 0-60 and on the same run did a 13.1 quarter mile @ 108. Seems pretty plausible to me. Also I realized the true shifting and launching points of the HR Z. It seems that its best to launch at 1500-2000 rpms. What i do is i rev it to about 2500 and then when it goes down to the desirable rpm, i give it some gas to get going and burn the clutch a tiny bit as i release it so i maintain traction and hook up almost instantly and then mash the pedal. I also found that the fastest times were achieved when I shifted at 6800-6900 in the HR. Anything past that and it seems that my times are around 5.3. Anyways, leave some thoughts below and share your 0-60 times if youve got one.

Looks like you are running wider tires than stock. Any other mods? Also have you ran any time at the strip? IF those numbers are accurate you are pretty good.

Yeah they are awesome sticky tires which im sure helped. I also wanted wider for better traction. And besides those tires the car is 100% stock. And no i havent =[ really want to go within the next month at the fontana speedway. And im sure theyre 99% accurate, the app has been proven to be spot on if calibrated and mounted right.

That time doesn't mean a damn thing lol. Go to a track and I'm willing to bet you don't run near that time lol. About a .5 second slower and 3-5mph off the trap speed. While that time/trap is about right I doubt you'll come near it.

You probably shouldn't be going that fast on the streets anyway.. I say go to the track, and get accurate times. Then post em up

Here's a good test to cross verify your app results. Take it out on a flat road and floor it in 3rd at 50 mph..then clock (stop watch) the time it takes to go from 60-90mph. Should be very close to your best 0-60 time...actually a tad better.

i dont believe it.. i ran a 13.84 with intakes and stock exhaust. 5AT. my friend ran his 6MT and ran almost exact same time. it probably could have been faster but that was his first time. so ill give him the benfit of the doubt and say he could run a 13.6-13.8

Another variable is the weight of the vehicle. At the track, removing the spare tire, jack, and other items and having less than a 1/8 tank of gas can change the weight of the vehicle by approximately 130 lbs. This would theoretically make a difference in 1/4 mile time with a 13.8 sec. for a fully fueled/loaded car and 13.6 sec. for the lighter car given 266 whp for each.

gtechs, iphone speed apps, bell timers, they are all gay.

In fact 0-60mph isnt indicative of $hit as you can have a beast car 0-60mph then it sucks on the highway.

Stop being such bench racers if you care about 0-60mph you are a fawking loser.

Please run your car at a proper track and report back when you run 13.6 @ 104mph.

I. Couldn't have said it better... so much garbage, no one gives 2 chits about 0-60 times! No one that actually races anyway..

I'm not sure what makes me cringe more....when somebody asks me what my 0-60 is, or what my speedometer goes up to.

60mph is just an arbitrary number, and it comes up so quickly that things like traction and gearing can seriously skew the results making a faster car seem slower, or vice versa.

The 05-06 rsx-s tops out 2nd gear at 58mph...having to shift to 3rd makes it slower to 60mph than the older rsx, but is it a slower car? No! It's faster to 58mph. And 70mph. Where do you draw the line? 60mph is an arbitrary number. Quarter mile is such a better indicator of a cars performance.
