HR 0-60 Times discussion
Guys...
0-60 is just one of many benchmarks used to indicate the performance capablity of a car. It ain't the *end all be all*..but it it DOES reflect performance capabilities and it is used to compare cars. Always has...always will. We ALL look at that # (come on guys admit it)...it's here to stay and it ain't goin' away.
BTW... If ya don't think the 0-60 time isn't a solid predictor of the Qtr time, I have a bridge over looking the SF bay I'd love to sell you

Examples of where 0-60 does not solidly predict quarter mile time:
- AWD car w/o much power
- FWD car with a lot of power
- RWD car with IRS vs one with a solid axle
- Any car with poor traction and a huge turbo
- Many gearing scenarios
Plenty of scenarios have car "A" rip out of the hole, only get reeled in at the end by car "B"...
It's not a solid predictor. It may be an "ok indicator" in lieu of better info, but to say it's a "solid predictor" ignores way too many factors from power delivery, to traction, to gearing, and even aero.

By solid I mean>>>
Plot 0-60 times on X axis and Qtr times on Y axis...you're gonna get a pretty good linear plot for *standard* ranges..say between 3 sec and 9sec 0-60.
Don't forget, by the time ya hit 60MPH, you're almost half way into the Qtr and what brung ya 1/2 way is most likely gonna take ya all the way.

What about a Supra that pulled a 3.7 second 0-60?
Tell ya what...just provide PUBLISHED TESTED STOCK 0-60#s of two different cars with the SAME #s and significantly different Qtr times. Then I'll stand corrected on my statement.
