Yep, totally high as f*ck. To think that I would make a deal that helps me, but also helps a business design THEIR product, sell THEIR product, then make a huge profit of a kit that cost no where near the price they will sell it at. Yep, totally makes no sense at all.

I'm not about to pay (even for parts) for them to design/test something on my car, that they aren't even sure they can make work. They are a business, sometimes you have to sacrifice funds sometimes to make money. Pretty simple actually.

Don't worry Brandon! That's the stigma surrounding the market for 350Z. Lack of knowledge on how things works, the parts, and the means for a certain result....

Nothing against the other guy either just people are scared of the unknown so assume that it's difficult...

Also OP's placement for the turbo won't be as hard as S&R performance's placement on thier first setup! They have since done/doing 3-4 other kits so they maybe moving the turbo forward at tad and lower for ease.

You would get a kit built for free, only pay for for the parts at (my) cost and get a free install. It would not leave here unless it is 100% perfect and the customer is happy with it.

If you find a 100% free/installed turbo kit, make sure to let me, and all other forum members know. I will delete this thread and we all call it a day.

Your sarcasm would be funnier if you hadn't have been searching for an HR z for over two years. Good luck.

I have been searching for an HR locally, and conisdering the driving season for a car like that (a "toy" car) up here is about 5 months, they are rare.

If I was experimenting with a lift kit on a pickup truck, there would be guys lined up for blocks.

As for your PM, the cost would be about $4.2k. This would include the complete kit, with UpRev sofware, 750cc injectors, 6266 T4 (600+hp) turbo, large core FMIC, 340lph fuel pump...ect. A kit that is very capable on a fully built block, not just a stock block.

For the record, when I put this add out for the 370z it only too couple of weeks to find a donor car. I will now be working on that in the near future. There are more 370z's here than HR's, but a long shot. Good luck on finding a free turbo kit.

ohh wow, please post this on the FI forum that you are looking for someone to custom build a turbo kit on your car for free.

We need some more excitement over there.

I am glad that others agree. For a second I thought this was a horrible deal.

It is unfortunate that I have the geographical disadvantage, otherwise this would have been a production kit a long time ago.

Ill add that Im doing the same thing for Powerlab right now and its about the same price hes asking.. dealer costs on parts and zero labor or tuning fees while they rebuild using a diff tuner, turbo, and wastegate placement.
I get a few cool maps, get stuck in the youtube videos (for mustang and civic owners and complete strangers to write hate comments on haha) and the knowledge that they will be building the big d#ck car out of mine simply due to the fact they need to makes some good solid numbers to sell their stuff by.

Ill be tuning that boost way back down and driving home on pump gas happily.
I hear you B, I do.. but the reality is that no one will do it for fully free. Any customer would have to cover parts. Its a small biz industry. Not arguing, just letting you know its kind of the industry standard/way it goes apparently.

^Yep, totally understand that. I thought I would offer my z to a company that seemed to have trouble finding an HR to test their products on, was not my intention to offend anyone.

quite the discussion goin on here i see...

both sides have made their points and valid ones at that, but Sasha is right that in Canada, especially Northern Alberta, BC and the prairies it's pretty hard to find someone who has an HR model 350. Lots of early generations and now 370's are the new buzz. Especially for only being able to drive the buggers for a few months a year.

Providing i had 4.5k i would have pulled the niz out of the garage for a short roady to Edmonton, but money has to go else were at this point and i have other things i would like to continue doing this winter before spring comes and i can finally get on the street.

Eventually there will be a person with some dough and the time to drop one off a BP. I wish you luck in the find Sasha.
