I read that despite all the work they did, they had a real tough time keeping up with the competition and desperate to find more power.

Wish there was a way you could check to see if a crank from the vq40 fits in there, if I remember correctly they're factory forged for strength and hollow for weight reduction.

The AM performance cars didn't keep up due to handling issues and it being their rookie season, power was definantly there.

The engines were built by Nick Hunter owner of 5523motorsports
each engine cost around 20-$25,000 each (parts and labor) and ten were made, some engines saw 11,000RPM and lived to tell the tale! the last engine design made 400whp NA!!!

problems due to sporting regulations make for very limited custom parts to be made... all engine parts have to be available through nissan, hence the 3.7 bottom end and HR heads... lots of nissan motorsport parts are on the car that are NOT available to the "general" public like 380RS ITB intake box are used

no further progress on this due to I bought a B13 SE-R and I love reving out the little 2liter... and the piston design is done... JE just needs to release them to a "shelf" piston... buisness is buisness

right now it is still a "custom" piston... until we "verify" them... the "street" car they are going into is an S13 with HR twin turbo, but this is a low compression piston for boost... as you can imagine there is not alot of people wanting to spend alot of money for NA power... if you want some prices on these parts contact Nick @ www.5523motorsports.com he is the brains behind the operation... I'm just a wrench

Is the piston dome volume the same in the HR and DE pistons? Dome looks the same in the pics.. just a taller D/height
i know the HR piston is taller because of compression height....

But I'm quite curious of both dome volumes..

Also have you tried a ticker head gasket? Cometic comes in .120 or a custom one.. Even with that one I think the piston is too high.. by .173" with the HR piston and .163 with the DE one...

3 pick is 3.7 crank + HR conn rod + DE piston, still too tall
custom pistons will be needed! success!!!
