South bend silent clutch discs
I've searched unsuccessfully and wondering if there are any reviews on this clutch kit here for the hr models?
Looking to pick up the stage 3 daily and match it up with a act hd flywheel. Anyone running a similar combo?

I'm also trying to figure out if I need stage 2 or 3. I go to the 1/4 Mile track maybe once or twice a year, and the occasional race from the red lights here and there.

My Z chatters since 24K (new,at 105K now) with the stock set up so I didnt really see the need to worry about it after.Watched a few vids Joe from Zspeed put up regarding the noise after install and it wasnt that bad...
The kit comes with a great gear oil from what I have read to keep the chatter low,so I took the plunge. Also read on various forums that most DMF to single flywheel swap will have more noise during break in so we will see how it goes.
I commute 100 miles daily, about 90% highway,so break in should go by quickly at 500-600 miles.
I went with the 19lbs flywheel, wanted a little more performance for my spirited moods, below is an 17lbs on a 370...

Ok so picked up the car this morning from my local dealer.
The pedal feel is definitely harder than stock. But not by much. This is the south bend SS upgraded pressure plate.
The silent stage 3 daily disc seems to work indeed. I've never realy heard other clutch and flywheel combinations in person but on idle this sounds just like stock. In fact' I'd say a touch quieter even. There is still that distinct vq "thrust bearing" noise that's goes away when you depress the clutch pedal, but nothing I would sweat over at all.
Now, I'm running the act street lite flywheel with this setup. The only bit of chatter I have is between 1k and 1.5k rpm under load. Even then, it's not really loud at all. I'm still running the regular tranny fluid that nissan used. Will switch it out for Motul next week end. That should presumably quiten it down even more.
Pics and vid to follow.
Now, can anyone tell me what the correct procedure is for breaking in the clutch and flywheel? Ive been driving it gently today and keeping the rpm below 3k or so. I do a lot of freeway driving.

No jack rabbit launches, ease off into first at stoplights, keep the rpms under 3000 till about 450-500 miles.I started going into 4000 rpms here and there at about 350-400 miles. You are wanting the flywheel and clutch to mate properly, the constant stop and go city driving is perfect for this.Freeway is fine as long as you dont try downshifting into higher rpms.Once your on the freeway just coast into 6th and cruise.Freeway is not optimal for break in since you arent really shifting a ton, keep these miles minimal during break in.They will not count MUCH towards the breakin process.
Also try not to slip the clutch, make nice crisp shifts without romping on the gas right after the shift.Normal driving like if a cop was following you.I also stayed away from a lot of downshifting, remember low rpms 2000-3000.
Pedal feel for the release will be at the top, dont try adjusting it lower, you will love it the way it is.Just follow the rules for 500 miles,if you doing a lot of highway, take the access roads or side roads to your destination instead of the highway.
After 500 miles,have a ball.
