Default manifold question

Hello all, recently I cracked my intake manifold.....I went to courtesy Nissan for a oem replacement but the part is apparently discontinued by nissan and they swapped the part with the 370 manifold and bolts but I'm sure the thread is the same but the length may not be.

MY question is.....isnt that gonna affect my performance and possibly a re-tune? Because I am under the impression that our vq35hr manifold was an upgrade for the 370? At least what I saw on motordynes post awhile ago.

Thank you in advance for any input

you will see power gains with the 370 manifold. let them swap it
bolts are all available cheap online

they must think since the 2 intake manifold looks to be the same, they aren't ! the bolts pattern does NOT match.

Nissan fixing the the bolt pattern problem ?

what do you mean by that ???

they changed the 4 center bolts pattern to avoid installing the 370z intake manifold on the 350z.

370z intake manifold = shorter intake runner
350z intake manifold = longer intake runner

there is only 2 way that you can install the 370z intake manifold on the 350z is by modifying the bolts pattern the same as Motordyne did for the HR on the VHR.
or swaping the lower intake manifold (cast aluminum) from the VHR

they bolt fit exactly the same on the HR head. not sure about the fuel rail since I haven't tried this when I did the HR head swap on the VHR.

I mean if the changed the bolt pattern on the 370 to fit the 350. Well they did. everything bolted right up....no issues at all with the install. As for getting it started I'm havimg a little difficulty with an idle issue.

When I first started the car it was making some really weird noises but after letting it idle weird it started to sound normal after some melted pieces of plastic lay on the ground behimd my exhaust lol....but I drove the car up n down the block for a little just to get it at normal running temp and it soinded fine, took it on the road for an actual drive and it feels great which I'm extremely thankful for.
Mh idle in park or neutral is at 1100 and fluctuates to 2000...
As a quick fix I don't have the 2 vaccume collector boxes that cross over from intake to intake but I did run some hose across just to keep the air flowing to its proper places. Idk if those boxes would have an effect on my situation?

Yesterday was just to hear it start up and run for a little, Than fix the minor issues if any and I'm glad I got it running cause after 3 months....it really stunk not having my Z for basically the entire summer.

Another thing that I forgot too mention was that as I took the car for a test drive at one point I lost all throttle...the high idle actually kept the car from comming to a full stop....

So you are sYing they changed the bolt pattern on the 370z intake manifold to match the 350z hr ... that sound ridiculous because now they would have 2 intake manifold for the 370z that both of them has diffeent bolt pattern... what they did he just gave you the right one that goes on the HR engine...

Quick question. Do you have the 2 vent nipple in the front *front of the engine* of the intake manifold ... if you dont then its the HR one...

Yes, they did change the bolt pattern on the 370 to fit the 350HR. they probably made a whole assembly line of 370 plenums that are compatible with the HR now....

Sorry If i appear to be rude, its not my intent.

then what if my 370z intake manifold break, Im gonna need a replacement which also mean im gonna need a new lower intake manifold to match the new bolt pattern.

so if what you are saying is true, then how about the intake runner lenght?

is there only 1 type of HR/VHR intake manifold now , if yes then which one is it ? the one with the longer runner or shorter !

I would LOVE to have an inside picture of the intake runner to know which one it is.

the HR were square ish runner and the VHR were shaped like triangular/square ish

on this picture is the actual HR on the left and VHR on the right

its all good man no worries.....I have no clue about the runner length...ill take some pictures if I can when I get home. Work 7/12s so its tough to really get anything accomplished. But what I think Nissan did was that since both upper plenums were identical....instead of molding 2 different type of plenums...just use one and have different bolt patterns to fit either vehicle.
