Default Tomei 280/272 cams combinations

Hello !
Anybody test that combinations ?
On intake side put Tomei 280/11,3mm
On exhaust 272/11mm ??

I thing that will give better top rpm gains then set of both 272...

Don't do it, your valves will hit ur pistons.
Maximum lift ur oem pistons can take is 11.0
If you're running stock internals, better stay with oem cams.
I wud not consider cams that big unless i have some high compression pistons like CP.

If you want , You can go for Tomies 264 poncams, they should be fine with ur stock internals and are good for 10-13 whp which is still not worthy considering the cost, time and work will be put on this job.

Cams are way sensitve and complicated in our VQs , i won't miss with them unless i really need them ..

Lots of misinformation in that reply. I have the 272 11.3 i 272 11.0 e and I don't hit And I still have stock pistons. But I believe the 280 maybe to much duration for stock compression all motor. And as far as cams not giving gains it's just like the kinetix velocity arguement if it's not properly tuned and turning more rpm than stock it's a waste. But with the right tuning and part combination they are worth it.

I build two HR engines based on JWT C1HR cams they have lift near 12mm and there is't problem with hit valve to pistons.
Ofcourse I changed valve springs.

But thise cams have only 262 duration... I need something more agressive for fast circut racing (I only use rpm from 4500 do 8000)

Where is the " lots of misinformation here " ?! You've mentioned only one thing
Anyhow, that pistons/valves issue being fine with you is probably because you're having after market springs which OP didn't mention getting these too! So ..

I'm having Tomeis procams 272/11.3 In & 272/11.0 Ext myself and i put these only because my engine is stroked by B.C 4.1 stroker kit , NA high compression built ( 11.5 cr ).

Howz ur car performing in low end with these cams ?!

You're gonna drop too much compression with these if you're having oem pistons.

What kind of gains did you notice at the track or on the dyno?

JWT have very nice cams but for DE engines called G.A. in that spec:
IN 297/11,5
EX 289/11

It's created to works with stock compression ratio 10,3:1 and gives a lot of gains from 3500rpm to red line, article abut it:
http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-13...-engine-build/

HR have a little more compression so more agresive cams would be working good.

I don't put any other cams to HR then JWT C1HR so I don't have any compare to another cams...

Tomei are more cheap and have longer duration so it is interesting me.

Can I find any dynos of Tomei Procams 272 compare to stock cams ??

I check valve to piston collision when i build both motors and it's rotate normal without any blocking...

But when engine run above 2000rpm there is a metalic sound i thinking that was normal on harder valve springs...
On idle was absolutly quiet.

Now I now that it was collistion...

Secodn engine is out of car so I have to remove pistons and go to machine shop now

the intake is just as important as the cams, if your looking to put cams that big in you need to be looking at a custom sheet metal intake and custom headers that are actually built and tuned for the specific rpm range your trying to hit. nothing off the shelf is going to be correct, the pieces should be tuned for third wave harmonics to actually perform properly.

I have a question I bought a really cheap pair of kelford cams 272/282 . I want to know what I have to upgrade so my engine won't mess up . I know have to get the valves springs for the bigger lift just want to know what else I have to get so my engine won't mess up .

You will most likely have to replace most of the 24 lifters due to valve clearance.
