Default Tomei vs JWT Valve spring kits

I am thinking about getting some tomei 264s but I am a little confused as to whether shims are required. It seems that that the JWT kit comes with shims but the tomei doesn't? Normally I would like to match the spring and cam manufacturer. Is there anyone out there running tomei cams with JWT valve springs and vice versa?

I did a little bit more reading, is it possible that maybe their is a height difference between the JWT springs and the Tomei's?

With the Tomei 264's are Poncams. Valve springs and retainers are not necessary for those cams. In regards to the shimming issue. Whenever you have the cams installed make sure whom ever is installing them, make sure they check the lashing. You can shim them for any lifter buckets being out of spec. But, its better to have the whole lifter bucket replaced to whatever size you need to bring them back into spec. Nothing Wrong with shimming them if you get the JWT cams. Just better to replace the whole bucket is all. Hope that helps.

Oh and there is no height difference in the valve springs. They are the same height. Its just if the lifter is out of spec.

No hight diff, only compress/pressure rate diff, and yea you don't need them ..
Also, you should be fine with your oem lifters, it's very rare to come across with a lifter that needs to be replaced.

Tomei's 264 are very easy Cams to deal with .. don't worry.
