Default number on lower intake manifold

hey guys, I was looking into porting and polishing the lower intake manifold and was looking for used ones on ebay. I see there are a few different casting numbers ranging from 1-4 before the JK4 then LH. Was just wondering if those numbers has any significance in determining if it will fit in my 07? Also, do you guys think im wasting my time or should it be a easy and cheap "upgrade". Any input will be appreciated.

why would you polish a plastic intake manifold? the hr's head flows perfectly good.

The lower i/m is aluminum on the HR, only the upper i/m is plastic. z1 sells them ported and polished for $350 with a core return. I figure I save myself a little money and have a little project to past some time in this cold weather.

There shouldn't be any other variation of IM for the HR, as long it is for the 07-08 350z it should fit. If you have other supporting mods (Full Bolt On) and tune, this would be a good upgrade to pick up a few more hp. You have to tune the car to get the best out of the ported manifolds. I would port match and polish both Upper/lower manifolds and get the PCV elimination kit (breather). If you don't eliminate the crankcase ventilation hose, your going to have oil/carbon build up in those ported manifold.

So im assuming the 1-4 is just like a production time stamp then, thats good to know! I have intakes/HFC/XYZ/Nismo exhaust with no tune yet. But im planning to uprev it sometime soon, hopefully them tax refunds come in the clutch. Do you think a catch can while keeping the pcv there work with the oil coating on the LIM after the port and polish?

Contact Z1Motorsport and get Uprev Standard from them. Jon P. is their tuner and he'll take care of you. Best tech support IMO, he just finished tuning mine with E85 (via e-tuned).

I don't have a catch can yet. but, I went with EPS PCV elimination.
Basically removing the the line going back in the IM and replace them with breathers. Add this group in FB and message them for one. Here's a photo with my 3" intake setup.
