Default Car shuts down on reverse and on stop

As my topic says my 08 350z started to shut down sometimes when I reverse but one time when I'm at a complete stop at a red light. The engine light pops up and my car is on complete shut down where I can't move my car not turn the steering wheel unless I turn off and on my ignition then it becomes fine. I do not see other threads like mine so I thought I post it first.

I do not know if this plays a role but Right now my AC doesn't work so there's no freon. I'm waiting on a hose part to come so that we can fix my AC.

Another role is that when I went to a Nissan dealer they told me my oil needs to be changed or there's less oil yet I just got an oil change a couple weeks ago. I went to the NTB dealer that did my oil they showed me that my oil is fine and at the correct level, which I find odd as to why Nissan would tell me I need to change my oil.

Has any one experience what I am experiencing?

Have you checked for stored or active codes?

I do not have a code read for my 350z. Yeah I should have went to autozone for a free read. But I remember the NBT or whatever dealer erase the code but that didn't help.

What's a good code read to use and to modify or clear so that in the future I can buy one for my z?

Clearing a code doesnt fix the issue. It seems youre not mechanically incline so why not take it to a shop and let them fogure it out...

I know it doesn't work by clearing the code. I was talking about when read codes for future issues.

It really depends on the code.

OBD-II is cheap and can read emissions.

ABS needs an ABS reader which can get pricey. These usually involve roll/speed sensors as well.

It depends on the code being thrown. A check-engine light is usually indicative of an emissions code, but the issue you are describing doesn't sound like an emission issue.

Personally, I record codes then clear them. If it comes back it confirms it wasn't just a glitch.

I see. So what do you use personally for your Z? I'm thinking of getting what you have for future issues.

When I still had my 350Z, it never threw a code.

My older Jeep XJ, only ever needed OBD-II.

My new Jeep JK, I needed ABS, but ended up taking it in because I didn't want to shell out the cash for the reader.

It really depends on your issue and your experience. If you only want the codes out of curiosity I'd go OBD-II.

Newer cars all have OBD-II and those codes are typically thrown more often. It's not an issue of "newer" vs "older" - they're two different systems, and both are present in newer vehicles.

So I got my car scanned and according to autozone there were no codes.

Here is what I mean. Sometimes when I reverse, my car shuts down and all the light pops up. I turn off the engine and turn it back on and it's back to normal. Does anybody even know the problem to this issue?

What codes did they scan for? OBD or ABS?

AFAIK Autozone doesn't read ABS. Next time somebody touches your car, ask for details.

Details? Does autozone have an abs? Because when I mention my problems he doesn't seem to know what else to do since there were no codes

That's exactly my point. As far as I've heard/know, Autozone only scans OBD-II. If the code is ABS, it won't show up on an OBD scan.

Pretty sure all of those lights always come on during start up and shut down of any car. Then go off when the car is started.

Just like all my dials go their full range of motion before reading. I think your car is just dieing and those codes are from it being shut off/dead. Especially with stick and you stall out.

Do you have any mods on the car?

The lights don't pop up when I start. It only pops up "sometimes" when I reverse or when I stop and press the gas normally and that's when the engine shuts off.

Once I restart the engine all the lights are gone as if nothing happened
