LOL well the rumors and speculations better be confirmed or you will lose your first born...
Based on the design philosophy of the new Maxima:
-Shorter wheelbase, but wider track. The new Maxima didn't shed weight from this change.
-Uprated interior materials - compare new and old Maxima assuming materials better than plastic will be no lighter.
-Assumption that the VQ37VHR is heavier than VQ35DE. The new Maxima kept the same VQ35DE.
I'm getting worried...

I see where you're coming from but NIssan engineers did their best to remove weight (hence the shorter wheelbase). The 370Z suppose to be 220 lbs (or at least 200 lbs) lighter than the current 350z.
Judging by the recent pictures, I'd actually give away my first born for that z.

HP aside, imagine what the G37 would be like even at 3200 lbs! Though I didn't care much about weight before, but that's the only thing I'm obsessing over besides the integrated 7" display. I'm looking for pictures of the Maxima 3.5s because the specs doesn't show 7" display as a standard feature.

Haha... before the '03 was released (JMANZ.COM days), we in the forum were nuts over the HP numbers. Everyone thought 295HP because of the tags on the test mules, and the final number was 287HP. I wouldn't count on anything more than 330HP. It doesn't matter because 328hp-340hp isn't much of a difference.

LOL, I remember! I was so excited. I was hoping for 300 myself, but it ended up taking 3 model years to get that!
