1/4 mile times for the 370Z
I believe the mod is absolutely correct. The car will be able to hit about a 12.7 in the 1/4 on its best day or with alberto driving, lol. other than that it will be a very low 13 sec car. Its not that hard to understand its not brain surgery.
It takes more horsepower to get from 13.0 to 12.9 seconds than it does to get from 14.5 to 14.4 seconds. The relationship between horsepower and ET is exponential not additive.
I erased the last few posts.
Let's not get all personal. This is all in good fun and we'll all soon find out. Please don't send threats via PMs.

12s will be easy to pull from this car.
It'll also give us an idea of just how much weight drags down the performance of a car, despite identical engines (G37). 5-600lb difference should definitely amount to about a 1 second advantage.

I refuse to bench race, but will bring my speculation about the power output.
The G35 was the first to offer the 306HP engine, followed by the 06' 350Z rev-ups and the 05' anniversary editions. Now the G37 comes out first with the 3.7L engine, and is soon-to-follow on the Z34.
Is it unfair to think that stock 370Zs will make about the same power as stock G37s? It seems stock G37s are putting down about 275rwhp +/-10, so it doesn't appear practical that the new Z would put down 300rwhp and is supposed to be about 200-250# lighter than the Z33. Do the math - it will be much faster than an HR. Screw the 1320', give me the keys to one and let me take it down Laguna Seca's corkscrew.

the fastest stock HR Z is 13.1, your going to need a hell of alot more ponies than 26 to knock of 4 tenths of a seconds in the 1/4 mile. It wont run any faster than a 12.9 with an awesome driver.

+1111 the lower you go into 1/4 mile times the horsepower need to hit those times seems to start mutiplying. once you get into low 12 its a whole diff ballpark of HP numbers
Sorry guys but I'm going with the mid 13's. My previous cars were a Trans Am, and then a C6. My 300hp Z is not even in the same ballpark as either. Even when the T/A was stock it still would bury my current car. I'm doubtful the extra few ponies of the 370 will make a huge difference. Just my 2hp

arguing with our keyboards will just create madness
