While the BOSE certainly isn't comparable to most aftermarket systems, I'm generally quite impressed with mine. I haven't seen any problems which might require TSB replacements.

I would say I am to. But only for the obvious fluctuating output and overly bassy sound at low volumes, is Nissan giving me a FREE new amp, Hence acknowledging the problem. It probably only pertains to the earlier made 350Z's. I never even compained that hard. The US has a bulletin. Morrey is fixing someone else's to.

...had my amp replaced at Morrey last week and it SUCKS! Don't do it!!!! You'll lose ALL of your bass and regret ever doing it. I've emailed Bose with the complaint and they have acknowledged that there is a problem and a working on rectifying it... they encouraged me to get other owners to email or phone with their complaints while the problem is being fixed so that you can get on their database. I've attached the email:

Hello Sean,

Please encourage your friends who may be experiencing similar problems to contact us. We will follow-up with you with more information when a plan has been finalized.

I recently purchased a 2003 Nissan 350Z and I am writting to express my displeasure with the Bose audio system. My car is equiped with the 240 Watt, 7 speaker system with the audio pilot
feature. The original BOSE amplifier has recently been replaced by NISSAN under warranty to rectify the problems associated with inconsistent sound levels stemming from the *audio pilot* system; However, this "fix" has only added to my disgust with this audio system.

The replacement BOSE amplifier provides a complete *lack* of bass response from a system that used to shake the car on the rare occasions when it was operating correctly. The sound quality is so bad at mid to high levels that i don't even bother turning up the volume anymore. This BOSE "fix" has taken the listening enjoyment out of my CD's entirely.

Until now, i have viewed BOSE as a company that prides itself in offering a high quality audio experience; But i am thoroughly dissapointed with this product. It is my belief that this stereo is not indicative of the products that BOSE currently offers, and it is my sincere hope that this is NOT the *final* fix for my stereo system that remains flawed.

I look forward to your response.

Default Wow Thanks

That SUCKS dude! I was so looking foeward to having this problem solved. I heard about your install from Paul (manager) and he said it worked well. Wonder what he will say the next time I ask him............Then show him your responce? They must know by now though...... right? Well I'll cancel my apoinment to have installed tomorrow.

Thanks for the warning.
I'll email Boss right now!

PS. Hope we get these poblems solved soon. Though I head about this public acknowledgement by Bose today, a lot of owners are still getting impatiant with them. Do you think they'll follow through?

Paul already knows... i've forwarded BOSE's email reply to him... it's a form letter--there are other owners on this site that have recieved the indenticle response... that said, i called and talked to someone at BOSE and they said to call back within a week to ten days for an update... i'm confident in talking to them that they're not just paying us lip service, and they're actually working on it... as Paul mentioned, Bose is a big company with a big NISSAN deal that they don't want to sour... to spend a several grand recitifying a problem in a few thousand cars is not a big deal to them (and worth it to prevent negative press)...

Paul's a good dude--he offered to re-install my old amp, but i told him not to bother... i'll wait for the new solution from BOSE.

Default That music to my ears

Thanks for the speedy responce.

So do you got any other issues with your ride?

This car is so cool, no amount of problems can detract from that factor, well as long as they get fixed that is.

Whats your VIN? My VIN: JXXXXXXXX1607. How much does that factor into the number of isues with the car?

vin 2081... i don't think nissan would fix many problems mid-year... likely for 2004... it's the risk you always run buying the first model year of any new car... risk-ward, risk being annoying probs, reward being the rarity factor :-) The only other prob i've noticed is a bad-*** rattle from my review mirror... but since the new amp raped me of all my bass, i don't have to worry about it anymore

I bought my Z one month ago and also noticed the heavy bass. It's great if all you listen to is ZZ Top!

Thanks for the info and the Bose email address. I'll send give them my 2 bits as well.
