Tire Size Thoughts
The time has come to start thinking about replacing the tires on my SSR GT3 18" X 9.0" +31 offset rim. Currently I am running Potenza S-03 "Pole Position" 225/45/18 (F) and 245/45/18 (R).
Currently considering in order listed: Goodyear F1 GS D3, BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW, Potenza S-03 "Pole Position", Michelin Pilot Sport, Dunlop SP Sport 9000, Toyo and Nitto.
Given the wheels, while also maintaining no more than .75 inch difference between the front and rear tire diameters, I received a recommendation to go with: 245/45r18 (F) and 275/40r18 (R).
Your thoughts?

That would get my vote. I have had no issues with my SP9000s.

I agree with you.

You said someone recommended you:
245/45r18 (F) and 275/40r18 (R)
The problem with this is look at the profile of the front tire. It is 45 compared to the rear at 40. I would make them both the same so the car sits even.... especially since the front should not be taller than the rear. As for the size I think 245 (f) and 275 (r) is fine but this is gonna get pretty expensive fast if you go through tires as fast as I do. Maybe you should get some "daily driver" wheels and some "track/performance" wheels so you can use less expensive tires (225 or 245 all around) for just driving to and from work or school and then have some track wheels with some insanely wide and grippy rubber for track days.
Anyways, as for brand I would recommend the Dunlops from you list. I would also try Falken or Kumho if you want to save a buck as they do carry quality tires for a good price.

Recommendation was from Sales @ Discount Tire Direct.
"I would recommend going with a 245/45r18 in the front and 275/40r18 in the rear. On ideal wheels per tire size the variance would be .2". That would be an 18X8 front and 18X9.5 rear. Because you are running 18X9s the overall diameters of both tires shold be even. ?
Thanks for ALL the input. Leaning towards Dunlop or Goodyear. Will also have a look at thos Flaken or Kumho.
