Actually 220 treadwear isn't bad for high performance tires. If you look at Pirelli P-Zeros the treadwear is about 160, now that's a soft and expensive tire.

unfortunately there is no consistancy or standard for treadwear ratings between brands (and sometimes even within a brand!)

so those pirellis could end up lasting twice as long as the michelins...

I appreciate all the input. First off, for those of you that suggested I break in the tires, I've already had the tires for over 3k miles. Second, one of you suggested I not take a cold tire pressure reading, however, I don't think thats correct. If I'm trying to get an accurate reading, I have to take a cold pressure reading (the tire warms up and the pressure will increase if I take the reading after I've been driving). I would like to know what are the optimal "cold pressure readings" I should have (I provided my readings in an earlier post). In light of all this, does anyone think that there may be an alignment issue causing my car to handle poorly when taking a hard turn. By the way, I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, not the PS2. I needed a tire with some winter traction. I liked the handling of the original Bridgestone tires, unfortunately they became feathered.
