Default Swapping 18' and 17" Wheels

I am ready to buy an 05 new Roadster, but the car in stock has the 17" wheels. I want the 18" wheels.

Does anyone know if the wheels can just be swapped from another 350Z that has the 18" wheels or is there some other adjustment that needs to be made to the car (suspension, alignment etc.) to make this happen?

I already know something needs to be done to calibrate the speedometer, but other than that I am ot sure

Thanks,

The dealer can probably adjust the speedo for the different size wheels with their Consult II program.

I just had the alignment done and the spec sheet says:

Nissan: 350Z : with 18" wheel : 2003-2004

That implies that there is a different spec sheet for the 17" wheels but does not necessarily mean that it has different values. Again, the service dept. should be able to tell you for sure.

The outer diameters are the same for the 17" and 18" wheels, so swapping them without any adjustment will be fine.

Is that because the 18' wheels are a lower profile?

It would sem there would still need to be an alignment adjustment, since the tires/wheels are still wider, if not taller.
