i'm thinking about running these tire sizes on some 18x8.5 +30 offset and 18x9.5 +22 offset. the reason why i want to run 45 series tires is because i want to fill in the wheel/fender gap WITHOUT lowering my car? will it make that much of a difference between the gap? is anyone else running this setup? any pics? thanks.
Let me preface this by saying that I really don't know much about tires/wheels/etc...but I have learned a lot reading this board...so here goes my $.02
I think it has more to do with fitment than anything...
I just had my rims installed TODAY
and I have 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 and it looks just fine. I am probably going to lower it about an inch, but that has more to do with how it will look with a kit on it than it does with how the wheels fill out the well.
I think if you check some post on this board, you will find that you should run 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 as a rule. Not saying you can't run someting else, but you run the risk of affecting your tracktion controll/abs et al.
Again, I'm far from an expert, but the above advice is what I've read in other threads.
Good luck and have fun.
