Default out of balanace when put 17" thrack wheels/tires on 18" OEM car

If I have 18" wheels on my Performance model and put 17" wheels on for track use, will the 17" track wheels be out of balance? I understand the 17" OEM wheels have different balance specs than OEM 18" wheel models.

Please advise.

wheels are balanced independently of the car. If the wheels are properly balanced, you will be fine. (for reference, I've run 16" drag slicks, 17" race slicks, 18" stocks and 19" iforged, with no problems on any of them)

Yep, no such thing as balance specs. A wheel is balanced or it isn't. They determine this by spinning it on a machine and it measures the way it rotates. Then they add weight on the inside or outside at certain points to balance the wheel.

The alignment specs are the same for all models, but changing wheels will change the alignment of the car so you should get it realigned.
