Default Looking for tires?

I am getting 19x10's and 19x8's. Im about to buy tires. What do u guys think of 245/35/19 on the front and 285/35/19 on the rear. Thats the only tire I can put on the front but for the rear I can also put 275/35/19. Which one will be more balanced and perform better with the front setup. Also, if I put the 285/35/19 in the rear, will I have to roll the fender? Help me, I dont know much about tires

With a 10" rear, it depends on your offset. I have a 10.5" rear with a +22 offset, wrapped with 285/35/19 tires on a stock suspension with no probs. In either case, you should be fine with the 275s. I don't foresee any issues with this setup

I am also going to change wheels and tires in late January $$$ and have done alot of searchs on this board and two others. For what's its worth the majority seem to be running 275X35X19 R with 245 on front but agree they wish they had gone to 255X35X19 F (without rollign fenders) Also almost all with 19's have dropped .5 - .7 " with Tein or Hotchkis springs.
Also notice if you go with wider tires and add sway bars you may over achieve on hitting neutral handling. One tread suggested that you can go from under steer to over steer when adding sways lowering spring and wider tires but set up right you can achieve a 1g corner/skid test without kicking out the rear end.
After reading and reading here's what im doing in the order written.

Adding Hotchkis sways set to medium (Next tuesday)
then
Tires and Wheels early February 275 or 285X19X35 R and 255X19X35 F will depend on deal and tires available @ the time.
Wheels SSR Professors (black polished rim) 19 X 9" F and 19 X10" R
I will confirm with tire rack or local expert before I buy anything.

If I don't like the gap in rear after adding 19's I will drop using Tein springs and also back off on sway to lightest setting front and back. Don't forget realignment after springs

By doing it in stages and getting a feel for the ride I can make minor adjustments to the above and as new products come out in Q1/05 tweak the plan.
My goal is to have my roadster handle as if it where on rails .. no kick out on twisty's and well planned out.

Setting a goal helped define what I wanted or needed to do.

Hope this helps

Yes it does, I cant put a 255 on the front, thats y i was debating between the 275 or 285 in the rear because i can only put a 245 on the front. Im still not sure whether im gonna put a 285 on the rear though.

Your gonna get alot of understeer. Might be too much stagger.

Not sure why you cant go with 255F but if you cant I would go with 275 R and 245 F. You can correct understeer with a sway bars but the above is a safe bet and what most folks are running. Let me know what you end up going with and your impression after installed for a couple of weeks.

skirby,
that is the rear!! i have 245's on the front. I've long debated weather to go wider. I know 275's fit the 8in rim, but is it safe? or does it give me better traction?? Opinions vary. As for the front 245 is a good size, not toooo big to cause steering problems or extra "drag" but big enough to give extra traction to the front.

Not too bad . . . you'll feel a few more bumps in the road, but that's to be expected since tires also function as a type of absorber.
