Yeah, I looked up the procedure in the service manual. To be honest, I can't imagine it taking more than 5 minutes. You basically just put a magnet on a sensor (to active it), then use a scan tool to reinitialize that sensor in the computer by hitting literally a couple of buttons. Do that for each wheel. The service manual only says how to use a factory scan tool, though, so I wouldn't know how to procede with just aftermarket scan tool software for my computer. I wouldn't know which buttons to click.

If not I might mount all sensors in my spare! What a KLUDGE.

Pretty sure that won't work because the car (all 4 senors attached to spinning tires) have to be spinning at something like 20+MPH or so to charge/activate the sensors. How are you going to get your spare tire to spin at 20MPH? Use a wheel balacer machine and park your Z next to the machine?

Not true

in my first Z I had the rear sensors taken out because the freaking alarm would come on at the track all the time. I made the mistake by leaving the sensors in the car and they triggered the 0 psi making the alarm come on and stay on until I had to go to the dealer and get it reset after I took the sensors out of the car after that it was fine.

I think mounting them into the rear tire should work

Incorrect assesment sir. Mounting TPS on the spare does nothing, and having them inoperable inside the car does nothing but trigger the onboard TPS system (in the car udner the dash) to trigger the signal that no TPS signal is being received from one or more of the tires, when the car computer expects (or has been initialized to expect) 4 discreet signals indicating tire pressure. The onboard TPS computer willl signal the alarm on the (mistaken) assumption that a TPS battery has failed/expired, and no signal is being received.

I never had any buzzer sound from driving around with my aftermarket track wheels with no TPMS sensors. Only the light in the dash eventually turns ON.

Even driving around with an other Z's TPMS equiped wheels will only get the lights to turn ON. No buzzer.

I think it has to do with the model and year you have.

I had the alarm come on every 5 minutes in my 04 track but only once in my 05 Enthusiast....go firgure

Just remove them from all 4 wheels and leave them at home. I took mine out one week after buying the car and the chime has never come on and I've only had the light come on 2 or 3 times in 2 years. Sorry to hear you totalled your car. Were you able to save all the performance parts?
