Default Dealer visit 1, scratched rims 4

My gut told me this would happen, but my tire pressure sensors were not working and I was 400 miles away from being out of warranty, so I took the plunge.

I picked up my car today and while the TPS was now working, I had 4 SSR GT3 scratched rims. Both the mechanic and the service manager saw and it said, "my bad", and that they would get them fixed. Now what that means and how long they will have my car to get it done is the next big question.

Is it me or can I never leave the dealership even remotely satisfied.

...and the beat goes on!

I personally would not let them "fix" it. It's never going to look the same. Make them pay for a new set!

Sheit like this makes me wonder if I should bring my Z in for a tranny replacement. I think I'm going to live with my 3rd gear grind for a little longer.

Good luck.

aggie300zx,

I know how u feel. I had my oil change last summer at Perf. Nissan. When it was done, my bumper had a hole in the middle.

Glad I caught it before leaving the lot cause it would have been very hard to prove once i leave that place.

I haven't been back there yet. I am doing my own oil change now.

Queenz350Z,

Can you explain how your 3rd grind? How many miles?

I have an '04 (built date Feb '04). Sometimes I get this "teeth" hitting as I shift to 3rd gear. Doesn't happen all the time. If i shift from 2nd to3rd and do it slowly (more like a split second pause in netural), it will be okay.

But if I shift from 2nd to 3rd straight, the "teeth" grind occurs once in a while.

I have been driving manuals for 14 years (4th manual cars).

When my car was in for an oil change at 3k mile, I mentioned to Perf. Nissan. The tech told me I have to have my manual break in (wtf). Now I have almost 12k miles.

Also, when its cold in the morning, i would get occasional grind in second gear, but its not that bad.

mc350z - Wow, you win...I think.

I plan on taking pictures of every scratch (exhibit a, b, c etc.) before I take them in for the "fix". If they are not to my satisfaction when done, then I will take it to the next level.
