Angry avoiding scratches in rim?

i have axis rims with the polished lip. well it seems like any dirt or dust that gets on the rim can scratch the lip when i clean them. i even resorted to using running water while using only my hand to clean them, but still get hairline scratches in the lip. is this unavoidable? you cant really see them unless you get close, and i think its just in the clearcoat, but it really gets to me. any tips from anyone?

Fresno,

Relax. I have a first bent on my Volks (hardly noticeable). I went to 3 different places to get an estimate to get the repair.

All the places said it would take 7 days to fix it. So I said f&ck it and not worry.

Its part of the wear and tear.

The only way to avoid getting scratches on your rims is to never go out..Just drive and enjoy.. nothing lasts forever..

Don't worry about it.. I've had my volks on for 3 weeks and I already noticed a few hairline scratches on the lips. I don't even drive my Z everyday either. I'm sure it's much worse in your head than it actually is. I find myself thinking about it too much sometimes, then I go take a look and it's not even that bad.

It's all part of the fun.

Yeah just give them a good polishing and no one will notice. There isn't anything you can do to prevent it other than trailoring the car everywhere.
