Wider tires on stock rims
Well, I am pretty close to ordering some new tires for the Z. I have the enthusiast, which comes stock with 225/50s on 17x7.5 in front, and 235/50s on 17x8s in back.
I am thinking of getting 245/45s in front and 255/45s in back. Does anybody think these won't fit? (the car, not the rims. I know those sizes will fit on the wheels) I am worried about rubbing on the inside.
Also, I am looking at the Kumho 712s ('cause I'm cheap!). Anybody have experiences, good or bad, with these tires? I'm trying to stay cheap for now, but would like more traction than I have with the stock setup. Any responses are appreciated.

I replaced my 225/50/17 and 235/50/17 with 235/45/17 and 275/40/17 using stock rims. Using the same offset rims allows the tires to push out the rear look and take full advantage of the wider tire profile.
You don't have any problems with the 275/40s in back? No rubbing on the inside fender? If so, I will definately be safe with 255s. I have a buddy who runs 275/40/17s on an 8" wheel and there is some sidewall buldge.
Thanks for the response!
