Default all my tires got slashed... need new tires quick. plz help.

hi.
yeah.. i got out of my friend's house last night and i see my car seating on the ground with all tires slashed.

why do people do this?? anywayz, i need to decide on 4 new tires. i have stock 17" wheels. i've been looking around for goodyear eagle f1s hoping to reduce feathering and road noise, but it is really hard to find the right size. what other size option do i have? will 235/45 front, and 245/45 rear work?

and what other tires are there with similar tread pattern? something with connected inside tread blocks like the eagle f1s.

i've found toyo t1-s, and yokohama es100 has similar tread pattern as the f1s. and also the potenza 03 pole position has connected tread blocks. are there any other ones you guys recommend?

Thank you for your help.

wow if that ever happened to me and I found out who did it....the outcome wouldn't be pretty. Props on keeping your cool and for new tires....michelin pilot sports are good as well as pole positions and the line of bfg hi performance tires.

Sorry to hear about your tires. I parked my Z outside of my gf's home and had someone throw a bottle at my passenger side door. Thank God for insurance, but, man.... whats up with people in this area? I was in fountain valley, btw.

As for the tires, I have the ES100's on my car right now. I haven't had the T1-S so I don't know how these compare to them, however they are pretty good tires for the price. They perform much better in the rain and dry than the factory tires but are not as good as the PS2's. I'd give the PS2's an 8.5 and the ES100's a 7.

The ES100 gives you alot for the money, but, with that said, I'll be swaping them out later this summer for something more sticky. Perhaps the BFG KD's.

There's a tire store on harbor blvd that sells the ES100's in oem sizes for $865 installed. I didn't buy my set there but had Americas Tire Company match their price.

thank you for your input guys.

yes. there are some dumb people out there. My god the car is only 3 weeks old. it really hurts.

i live in Anaheim area, but the slashing happened at LA downtown area. right in front of Staple Center. right side mirror was also busted, and got some weired dings on the right side door. Never park your car at those public parkings when dark in Downtown. it is just too getto over there.

i had a ball today towing the car to the tireshop. it was really hard to get on to a flatbed with no air in all 4 tires.

but somehow managed to get it on there without scratching.
I gave the owner there the above mentioned list of tires, so he can get me what he can find.

I have until Monday to decide on the tires. Any recommendation or advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

sharingan625,

Sorry to hear man. Just makes me mad reading this.

Hey x350Zx,

When i first had my car, i was parking it on the side of the house (no garage at that time). Some A$$hole egged my car and left a scratch.

I live in a culdec-sac and don't have any enemy. After talking to the neighbors, they said a guy that lives accross the street did it. The dude has been doing this to the neighborhood. I didn't have any evidence, but I spoke to his dad. I was so mad i could have kicked his as$ (in my teenage years, he would been dead).

Since i am a little older now, people recommended that i called the cops, which i did.

From this day, everytime i see the dude, i give him a fuc$ look just to try to start something with him.

I had to spend a grand to just get security camera. Sorry for the vent!!

Tony

Sorry to hear that man, that sucks. I don't know where Stanton is but, Call Tires Buy Mark in Reseda California. Ask for Mark, tell him Dan with the blue Z referred you and he'll hook you up with good prices. They're listed or you can do a search under my name and you'll find the number. They'll ship.

i got my z this past november. the one time i parked it on the street in chicago, i only left it alone there for 2 hours. i come down from my gf's apartment, and some **** spit 3 times on my passenger door. f'n nasty! ever since then, i pay the 5 dollars to always park my car in the parking structure. i suggest you all do the same when you can, because then you dont have to worry about ur car when it is parked. for all the money we spend/waste on mods, 5 dollars to park ur car safely is not expensive. just my 2 cents

OK.

i ended up getting Hankook Ventus K-104s.

235/45/17 and 255/45/17.

No noise, handles pretty good. i paid $440 out the door.

Very nice tires for the money.

My insurance company gave me 950 for the damaged stock tires, and 500 for the busted mirror and the dings on the door. (i lied a little bit on the door dings...). Took out 500 deductable from the total and i ended up getting a check for $950.
So i made about 500 dollars. Just gotta replace the mirror with that money.

My god. This whole thing's been a nightmare. Glad it is over now. Thank you all for your support.

Nooo. Ventus sucks major a-hole. I had em on a set of wheels and they slipped all the time, horrible traction.

really?

was it the same one? k104? i've been driving for about an hour today, taking turns and breaking. it stuck really good.

it was a good amount of upgrade from the stock potenza.

maybe the wider tire size helped little too.

no complaints here. Stock tires = $900 vs. ventus = 440.

I just hope it lasts.

let us know how they are... (the k104s)... i almost got them but read pretty bad reviews on 1010tires.com so went with falken's instead... either way it would be good to get a 3 month review on those tires just for future knowledge..

Glad to hear it worked out. No comments on the tires. Had this happen to my old CL-S. Came out of my apartment, didn't look on passenger side got in car and drive a bit. Car kept pulling, so I stopped and found that 2 tires on passenger side were slashed. Had to pay 65 for flatbed towing, then another 300+ for 2 new tires. To top it all off, a storage door slammed shut on my finger that night and broke my finger. Had to have surgery and take 2 months off work. Now thats a bad day!!!!
