Problems Wearing? 245/275
Howdy,
I have a 2003 Track Silverstone and would like to know if I put a 275/40/18 tire in the rear and a 245/40/18 tire in the front will this cause problems with unusual wear? They would be mounted on my stock 18" wheels (Rays). Another thing, I keeps seeing people talking about TCS when upgrading to a larger tire size. Will increasing to a wider tire jack with the TC System?

8" F / 8.5" R if I'm not mistaken. Anyone try this? I was thinking of doing the same thing. Need to get rid of these crappy tires and replace them with some Pilot Sport 2's or something.

Wow, how does it handle? I'm looking to replace my rear tires only on my stock G35c wheels, but was thinking of 255's.

I just TRACK TESTED my wheel combo. Great tire combo.
Absolutely no problem with the wheel/tire size.
Yet another REAL WORLD test...
The 1st picture is through the esses at about 55-60mph
The middle picture is my G at going thru turn 17, 80+ mph & excellerating onto the front stretch
& I can't really figure out where the 3rd picture was taken???
but i'm going really fast & turning to the left alittle

I also included a picture of the 1in spacer I put on my rear wheels. It pushes out the rear wheels, to fill out the wheelwell a bit more
the other pics are of me this past weekend at VIR.

The racing picture on the left shows a very good example of rear camber & "unloading" the rear inner wheel. You can see the tire contact patch angle. Where this helps is on the outer wheel, where right at this moment it is hopefully completely flat on the pavement, giving the most contact while that outer tire is receiving the most forces.
