I just installed them like normal. Like manofsteele2003 mentioned up above, they'll fit on many aftermarket rims, especially 18" rims which have more tire sidewall than 19s. It's hit or miss, though. You just have to find someone who's tried it for your particular rim. If you can't find out for sure before hand, it might be a good idea to take a set of the straps with you to the tire place when you get new rims. That way if they don't fit like normal, you can immediately use the straps instead.

I guess an argument could be made that the straps are a better idea, though. The sensors have a bit of weight to them, so installing them in the valve stem hole means you have to put sizeable counter weights on the rim. If you mount them via straps to the inside of the rim, that puts the weight in the middle which would put the rim out of balance far less, and that means fewer balancing weights stuck to the rim. Probably doesn't matter either way... just something to consider.

Sorry if I sound new, and the search function hasn't worked for me in the two weeks I've been looking at this site. Are the TPS sensors in the valve stem or are they mounted to the wheel inside the tire? If they are inside the tire, a picture of one would be cool to see.

The TPS sensors ARE a part of the valve stem, or more accurately, are attached to the inside end of the valve stem. If you PM me your email addy, I can send pics.

Yup The TMPS are attached to the inside end of the valve stem and the only way to program them is to use the nissan programming remote. You dont need a scanner to program them just the remote at most cases. Basically KOEO and you need to start from RF wheel and go clockwise. takes less than 5min if working properly. Whoever quoted you 2hrs maybe thought your trying to install them and not just programming only.
