Default What wheels should I get?! HELP :P

Hey everyone. I'm a current Black/Tan 2003 G35 6MT owner. I don't own a Z but I want to post this thread here because I get some good opinions here . I am in the market for wheels and currently I have two options. I would like to ask everyone what the better option is and what they would do.

Option 1: 18" Work Equip Mesh style wheels.

Since my car is lowered I don't mind only 18" wheels. These wheels are 10" wide in the front and 12" wide in the rear. They can be seen in the first picture. These wheels would be good because they would give me alot of traction. I have two front tires in my garage (Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's) in my garage that will fit these wheels. After that I can drop my stock wheels for about 600-700 bucks (Stock G35 18's, anyone want them?) and it will all work out nicely. I like the mesh style. The brembo brakes and slotted rotors I have will fill the wheel nicely but the wheel may be too busy to actually see them.

Option 2: 19" HP D-10 Rims with GR'8 Tires.

These wheels are 19" (show in the second picture) which is a plus. They are 8.5" wide in the front and 9.5" wide in the rear which is the same width wheel I have on my car now. They come with four tires in which I can sell my goodyears for about 400 bucks and my wheels for about 600-700 as I said before and actually end up paying less than I would if I got the 18's. The drawback is that my car is lowered on Tein H-Techs and I might need to get my fenders rolled (I really want to avoid doing this) and that my Brembo brakes and slotted rotors won't fill the wheel as good but will be seen better if I get the mesh wheels. Another drawback is that I'm not getting a wheel that is as wide and I hear that with 19's you feel the road more and there is more change of them getting banged up because of less sidewall. These wheels however are alot cleaner looking and more stock-looking which I like.

I know Work wheels are good quality. Both wheels would have Infiniti center caps. The 19's I would take from my stock rims and the 18's I would get from an Infiniti J30.

What does everyone think?
Thank you all for your opinions.

Wow, there is a lot going on in this post and I will try to sort it out. You really need to do some research because I don't think there is any way either set will fit. It looks like you are looking for used wheels, and there is nothing wrong with that, but sometimes people just throw stuff up for sale that isn't always an ideal fitment for the Z/G35.

18" Works - very, very nice wheel. I don't know the offsets of this set but there is no way a 12" wide wheel is fitting the rear without serious modification. It would take more than just rolling the fender. They might not clear the Brembos either.

19" HP D-10 - I am not really familiar with this wheel. However, I saw the ad for these wheels and the offsets/tire sizes are all wrong for a G35 coupe. +38 will be tucked in the wheel wells (even more so than stock) and will not clear Brembos.

It sounds like you have the stock 18's which are only 8" wide all around. A 8.5"/9.5" or 9"/10" wide set would be a very nice upgrade from stock and allow you to run plenty wide tires. Look for wheels with offsets between +20 and +30. Also make sure they specifically clear the Brembos.

Thanks for the tip. Here are the General specs for the 18" wheels that the owner describs

General Specs:

3-Piece modular construction
Bolt Pattern - 5x114.3
Front - 18x10 offset 7
Rear - 18x12 offset 22
Hi Disk on both front & rear.

I assume since the offset of the rear is +22 it's okay. He said they would fit. What do you think?

Unless you have a widebody kit, I don't see any way those will fit. The wheels are going to stick out past the fender. Ask the seller for pics of the wheels on a 350Z/G35, and I am pretty sure they won't have any. I saw the ad and they stretched a 275/35/19 tire on a 12" wheel. IMO it looks silly when you stretch a tire that much. You can run that size on a 9.5" rear wheel just fine. Good luck with your decision but I would look elsewhere.

Also to clarify, the offsets I listed are for 8"-9" widths in the front and 9"-10" widths in the rear. A 12" wheel with a +22 offset will stick further out from the fender than a 10" wheel with a +22. Hopefully this makes sense and someone else can back me up.

It makes complete sense, as long as they fit I'm happy. So you say go with the 18's I guess.

Actually, I would say get what you like as long as it fits. I don't think either of the sets you listed will fit so I would rule them out right now.

IMO, go with 19's. Especially if you get a deep dish wheel, it will look smaller than it actually is.

You really think they won't fit? That would suck if I got them and they didnt.

Default wheels

Take a look at www.wheelspecs.com

This may be the best to see a lot a wheels in one place. We just bought some Enkei's for our race car. Beautiful wheels and a reasonable price. PM me if you are interested in who I bought them from.
