Default Problem with 5zigen Hyper 5ZR ??

Does anyone have problems with the 5zigen Hyper 5ZR SMB rims? The polished aluminum on the lip keeps getting oxidized and turns a slight white color. Does anyone else experience this? How do i get rid of this? Any suggestions?

I have the GTC's, and they have the polished lip too, but I've never experienced the oxidation you are talking about. But I do wax it though...that might help. Good luck.

i haven't had that problem. i wash them with soap and water only and only allow brake dust to lightly collect. Could it be possible that the brake dust settled to much on the lip. I know when I had the stock pads the brake dust was rediculous.

Sounds like you or someone who washed your car sprayed wheel cleaner on a hot wheel...pretty common occurance with the Volk crowd. Only way they've been able to resolve is to have the wheel refinished. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...good luck.

p.s. If a carwash place did it, they should now better and are financially responsible for damaging them.

That's right, i spray mine for about 5min just to get them nice and cool. Forgot to mention that. I hope you can restore the finish. Try calling or getting in touch with 5zigen yet?

You have a clear coated lip which protects the actual polished lip whereas the 5Zigens probably don't. There is nothing to oxidize on the Volks which is why they use a clear coat and why you can wax them.
