How much Torque can a wheel take?

I was looking at getting the Axis wheels, but I'm starting to wonder if I put 650+ hp in the car, what may happen to the wheel itself...

Will it crack or break the spokes?

more than likely, your tire would lose grip before the wheel would break its spokes. I believe most wheel failures are in lateral movements, like high g turns.
