the formula is rim diameter + sidewall x2..so for a 255/35/19 tire...

=19" + (255mm*.35) x2
=19" + (~3.51") x2
~= 26.03"

Edit: oh yea, thats for all the info JET... you're awesome

I understand the staggered thinking from f/r 20mm spacing but what about the other math you did. Thanks again.
I use this tire Calculator. Thanks to the guys @ DTD

Hey, didn't see your reply there.

In terms of wheels, +19/+29. In terms of tires--still not sure...haha. I would like to go with the more appropriate setup. The most common setup is 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear. Others choose 255/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear. The recommendation I seem to be getting here is 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear, which is a combination of the 2.

So now I have THREE options! And to think...I thought after I chose my offsets, I would be set!

Which combination did you go with? I'm guessing 245/275 since the T1-S isn't available in the 285. Also, when do you get your rims?

I still dont have them yet amit... I ordered the +17/+19 with 245/275...looks good to me.
The wheels were suppossed to be here by now...freaking I got a bs speeding ticket (45 in a 35) right in front of the campus so I'm kinda mad haha.. Its my first ticket ever so yeah.

Anywho, order them already! It takes forever for them to get here. Still deciding if I'll put the kit on or buy more performance mods.

Sorry about the speeding ticket (if you can call it that!).

PM me how much you paid (if you don't mind). Did you pay in full or a partial deposit? That was pretty quick! How long was the wait?

so you could run 255/35/19 up front on a 8.5" wheel without rubbing with a 22+ offset and still be fine with vdc and understeer...

you really think that 1/10 of an inch will throw off vdc?

So..in the soap opera of my volk purchase, I bought them off of a guy on another forum

Anyway, he informed me that the fronts have spacers (+19) but the rears (+17) did not. I asked him if he meant the hubcentric rings, but he said no, he meant they had spacers. This is news to me. I thought no spacers are required, and I dont even have brembos.

Congrats bro! Did you buy both the front and rear or just the fronts? I remember you saying that your vendor claimed that the rears were in, but the fronts were not. In either case, congrats

Were you able to cancel your order and receive a 100% refund from your vendor? How much did you pay? Are they new/used?

Damn, I got so many questions, but I'm gonna hold off until you put them on! Mine *SHOULD* be here by tomorrow, so I was going to get them on this Saturday. But that's pending that the shipment ever arrives...

Looking forward to your pix.

Thats crazy, i was hoping to have mine on by this weekend as well! Hahah, I bought the complete setup front and rear, and cancelled my order with the vendor. I got sick of the wait and saved a CRAP load of money ahha.

Anyway, whats the status on yours? I'm making an appointment for probably friday to get the fenders rolled.

I love my Toyos. I used to run T1-S's on my Celi and they were great now I have T1-R's on my Z and they are fantastic. They hook up well and handle great. I can only recommend them

Good stuff! Yeah, I'm just hoping they come in tomorrow as scheduled, but I'm betting there's going to be some kind of delay, so I probably won't be able to get them on this weekend

mrtomcat: how would you rate the new T1R's? It seems like some people weren't satisifed with them. What sizes are you running and how are they compared to the stockers?

i have been running the T1-R's for about three months now, and i really want to like them...but i don't.

they look great, they are quieter than the T1-S, and they ride nice, but i feel like they don't have the same grip as the T1-S's. i think i will be going with the KDW II's next time.

if you don't really push your car, then this tire is great. if you are looking for maximum grip, i would look somewhere else.

I've been running T1 Rs for about 2000 miles now & they work fine. Less noise & smoother ride than OEM tires. The Toyos handle just fine but I don't drive at the limits so can't compare ultimate grip vs other tires.

As an aside, below is a link describing the T1 Rs. It is a PR piece but the article does describe the changes from the T1 Ss.

hmmh, I really like them. I have 255/45/17 in the rear and 245/45/17 in the front. They are fairly quite and hook up really well especially compared to the stockers.

BashaZ,

Take the advice from Protocav above .. I know no one that pushes thier car harder than he does on the street ... and his is kind of at a loss on these tires. I thoroughly considered them, but after not being able to find positive reviews from extreme driving ... I decided on the GS-D3 goodyears (kinda being cheap at the time too) and I ended up just as unhappy as him ... too much sideway flex and not enough all out grip.

My next set of tires will be Mich PS2 .. abliet 1.5x the cost .. I have yet to hear anything at all bad about these other than the treadware ... but hey, nothing is perfect

Ok. Just so that I am straight on this as well and reading the post correctly. Since I ordered the 19x9.5F and 19x10.5R Volk SF Challenge, I should be running the below tire configuration.

Fronts: 255/35/19
Rears: 275/35/19
Tires: BF Goodrich KDW2
Stock height

I would not have to do any shaving or rolling of the fenders with this setup correct? If someone can help me to confirm this, I will call F1 motorports right away and change my tire setup. Ordered 245/35/19 for the front tires from what I read in this forum. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, that's the thing. I don't hear POSITIVE things about the tire. I'm hearing "I'll go with tire "x" next time" or something of the sort. However, I don't push the car to it's limits, and it seems to be reasonably priced. Since the car is my daily driver, I'm going to be putting a lot of miles on the tires, so I don't think I can afford to go with the Michelins, even though I hear great things about them (well, except for the price ).

Anyways, I can always change my mind since I still don't have my wheels yet. Most likely I will just stick with them though.

Although some people suggested 255's in the front, I went ahead with the more common 245's. Seems like many members have been running the 245/275 combo without problems, so that's why I chose that setup.
