Hmmm it's kinda interesting that the spoke that cracked was the one spoke with the Axis logo inbedded into the wheel. I wonder how many of the other Hiro's cracked on the spoke with the logo?

See where I'm going with this?

I'm sorry but that spoke iiiisssssss the weakest link.... good-bye.

Anyway the guy that started this thread, did you post any DAMN PICS yet??? Hehe kidding, where's the pics??

Thanks!

The rears are 19 x 9.5". Nice big fat lip on those.

I actually bought these from a guy off of this forum. His user name is WTF No Turbo.
I've seen them on Ebay for $1099 shipped. Typically will run from $250 to $350 a wheel.

Just an update on these wheels.....

I can tell no difference going from the 18" stock to the 19" Hiros in terms of ride quality and performance. This shocks me, but I'm quite happy. Handling has been much improved with the addition of the 245/275 tires. I highly recommend going wider if you can.

That looks awesome! It doesn't look too high with stock suspension. I definately want those wheels now.

The best thing about the Hiros is how they look at night....especially on a silverstone Z. They reflect the light perfectly. Car looks so sharp at night. I'll try and get some shots to demonstrate my point.

I've researched wheels for over a year. Everything from Konigs to Volks. For the price and looks.....you can't beat the Hiro. I'm not a big track/race dude, so for me this wheel is perfect.

Default cracked Hiros

we have experince a bad batch of 19x8.5 Hiros where some of the wheels may crack on one of the spokes. there are about 100 pieces in the batch and we belive we have purged most of the wheels. Please do not be alarmed, the cracking on the spoke is due to a bad batch of alumiunum ingot. There are no further issues with any current batch of Axis wheels. Keep in mind although the wheels are being replaced free of charge. Many of you out there blow things out of proportion. if one of the spoke is cracked, there is still 4 spokes holding the wheels together. If one lug nut is missing , there are still 4 more there to hold the wheel on the assembly. although it is best to have 5 lugs nuts on the wheel, i am sure some of you heard stories where people have ran with only 4 lug nuts, holding there wheel together. We are fixing the problem by replacing the wheels, and are doing more than alot of people would in this situation. It is very easy to blam when you are on the other side. any how for those we writes in and support us we thank you. keep in mind we have sold over half a million wheels since we have been in business, and to have 100 piece that could have some problems is not a bad track record. one cracked spoke is not good, but please keep in mind no one has crashed as a result of it. It is the exageration caused by others that can hurt a company. Thanks for you time.

it's pretty cool to see that the president of Axis is willing to respond like that...not something you would expect to see...my car has Milanos on it..and they held up really well in the crash...I'm going to repair them and have them powdercoated...

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I had a question for you about the TPS scala. How much did you pay per wheelt o have the tires mounted and balanced and the TPS sensors installed? Im planning on taking my stock wheels and the new wheels and the tires to a rim shop to have them remove the tps from my wheels, then to put them in the hiro's and then mount and balance the tires. Ill post soem pics now. I got them in anthracite. 19x8.5 +22 front 19x10.5 +35 rear.

Nice rims tescineunta! I have the same exact ones except with 20/25 offset.

I can't tell you exactly how much it cost me to get them installed and balanced since I got mine as a package deal (just bought the tires and install was inlcuded).

I can say that the TPS is easy to remove and install. Just unplugg and re plug. Mine didn't even have bands.

I'm thinking it would cost 50-100 for mount and balance.

+20 in the front, I mistakenly put +22. I have 10.5 rear though not 9.5 rear boma :-P
