Refinished my wheels... DIY style
well I've only got 2 done... but my car looks awesome from the passenger side.
Specs on wheels: 19x8, 19x10 DTM Kreuz 7 (same as J lines). They are 2 piece forged wheels. I bought them used and was told they were recently refinished (black centers with a polished lip) but shortly after I got them the paint started to flake off in places. So I took advantage of my parent's garage yesterday and refinished 2 of the wheels. Used paint stripper to remove the black paint and primer, then sanded the wheels to create a brushed finish. I bought a polishing kit for the lips for use with a power drill. I think they came out great.

took about 2 hours per wheel... they still need some light work. I think I'm going to go over them with a higher grit sandpaper. However, about a half hour was spent watching TV waiting for the paint stripper.

Thanks everyone. I am very happy with how they turned out... just not looking forward to re-doing the other two in my apt. I'm definitely digging the new look... they almost look similar (and I use that term very loosely) to the HRE 546's that I wish I could afford.

i bought a polishing kit off ebay for around $50. It consists of 3 different bars of rouge and assorted polishing attatchments for the drill. Works pretty well.
