Default MB Weapon wheels

Does anyone know the weight of an 18X8 MB Weapon wheel? Also, does anyone have an good pictures of an 18X8 18X 9 staggered fitment?

I can now answer my own question. The 18X8 weighs in at 22 lbs. (information provided by Discount Tire) Considereing that the stock Nissan 18X8 weighs a hefty 26.5 lbs., this makes the Weapon seem pretty darn light! A savings of 4.5 pounds per wheel is huge. Match these up with a light tire, and you would deliver some noticable additional performance.

Speaking of light tires, the stock PotenzaRE040 tires are also really heavy: 27 lbs front and a whopping 32 lbs rear. The Perelli P Zeros in the same stock sizes are 21/27 respectively. This is a huge savings in weight! And as we all know, tire weight is more important than wheel weight.

I was under the impression that 18x9 was 38 offset, which would look about the same as 18x8+30 at the fender. I've noticed the 9" has a deeper hub, the spokes dont change.

I had 17s and got 4 18x8+30s in bronze (all that was available in the US at the time). I had them powercoated to silver. Unfortunately I didnt like the silver (the clear made it silver/gray, i wanted bright silver). I got some OEM 18s and these are sitting in the boxes they came in.

I definately notice the extra 4+ lbs on the OEM rims. I really did like these.

Anybody know how to remove powdercoat? Glass media blasting didnt touch it I've also considered selling them. Dunno...

Thanks for the photos. I am thinking about the gunmetal color to help hide the brake dust. Should look good on my Silverstone car. You are right about the offset on the 18X9. These are a somewhat mild set of wheels considering what many on this forum are fitting on their cars, but I don't want to upset the already fine handling with a larger diameter or more agressive offset. This is a lot of wheel for only about $160 each!

Default I run them as my race wheels

17x9 with +27 offset is fine with 275x40 tires all around. This is my secind year with them. Very good price for weight.

they actually look pretty good on the road too. The hub looks deep and the bend on the spokes gives alittle depth. Very open, shows caliper well.

yeah, thats a squirrel, a very lucky squirrel...

I guess I've become some sort of unofficial spokesperson. With my powercoating saga, I've got some crazy emotional attachment to them. haha...

I'm surprised more people dont have them. Considering the price and that they've been auto-x'd and used in drifting competition. So far, they have a great reputation.

I'm hoping to have these back on with some all seasons by winter. Which is alittle backwards, these were so much more nimble than the heavy G35 18" OEM rims. I should have my summer tires on them right now. :/

Haha, I hate the emotional attachment.

From traveling around with the drift car, I've sold a ton to the 240 guys and a few on Mustangs.
