Do you think black wheels will go out of style soon?
I never think about modding to keep up with street style...to me, the car, and the owner have a style. My car is my style, silver, matching mesh silver rims, polished lip, low pro wide tires, tinted windows, tinted tail/head lights, and I will soon be adding the CF Veilside V.1 lip to keep with the black and silver look. A bright color big brake kit would likely be next, probably an aqua color to give the car even more contrast, and again, my style.
I would NEVER buy something for my car because it is what other people are buying. IMO.
On the subject of black wheels, I dont see them getting played out. At least the really nice ones....flat black is something I could see going out, but hyper black, and black chrome are exotic looking.

It seems everywhere I look people are slapping on black wheels/ polished lip...I saw some on a civic, an integra, late model chevy impala
, hummer, and i'm sure this list will keep growing...
Racing Hart CP-FTune Super Black Rims with no lip, just an awsome looking 5 spoke wheel. Classy look with polished black finish. Expensive at around 700-750 each, but it will give you that bling factor.

And I totally agree with atar about the car and the owner having a style. My cars appearance, with its drop, color, perfect amount of camber (imo) and agressive offsets are exactly the look I was going for-racey yet classy

You cannot compare a wheel like my Volks to a Tenzo R wheel you see on a damn Civic or Integra....also as far as I know, Im the only Z in MD right now with these wheels.

I bought my wheels because i believed them to be the best fit for my car, they just happened to be Black. If i had a white car, i would've got gold wheels. I dont follow trends/styles.....I SET THEM BISHES hehehe jk.
Update, I hope they don't go out of style soon because I just ordered some SF Challenge D. Black. After some careful consideration, I opted not to go with the PIAAs, they were just too much $$$ for a cast rim.
I don't think black and other dark colored wheels will be going out of style anytime soon.
The hyper-black/polished Ro-Ja's are the first black wheels I've ever owned. To me black wheels go with the ss paint nicely and give my z a little more aggressive look. I've received several compliments on them from other "car" people and regular folks too which is nice.
I know I'm really happy with them and hey...if I want I can paint them a different color if my tastes changes down the road. I'm adding a v/s ver.1 cf lip and maybe an evo-r or varis b-pilar cover to keep the dark-colored mods theme going.

I agree, the wheels are just part of the look of a car. I also am in the black wheel bunch, gloss black LE-28N's on a black G35 6MT coupe. It's not about the wheels per se to me, but the overall look of the car. I need to take better pics of it and post them though.
Its funny, in Houston, black wheels are becoming a dime a dozen. Everytime that I go out on the streets, I see at least 2-3 cars with them on. This is probably not the case in many other US cities, but here, its like the next biggest thing after the spinner craze. When spinners were new, everybody had a set of these godawful things. Most of the sets that I saw were mounted on the biggest buckets I have ever seen. They couldn't afford davins, so they bought spintechs, and when they could not afford spintechs, they bought spinning hubcabs.
Black rims are a classic look that go WAY back. They will never go out of style.
The fads come about when people try things that are different, to break away from the classic, or average look.

I dont think black on a black car will ever go out of style .... Looks too damn sweet. But I feel that eventually it will mellow out a bit. I'm glad to see more black rims on cars as I have always thought they where sweet, but 4 years ago if you had a Z with balck rims 80% of people would have thought you ruined your car .... I know you mod you car for your self but its nice if other think it looks sweet as well.
