Do you think black wheels will go out of style soon?
I've always kept up with the latest street trends and it seems that they all get played out when civics and integras start sporting them. Do you think that black wheels with a polished lip are going that route? It seems everywhere I look people are slapping on black wheels/ polished lip...I saw some on a civic, an integra, late model chevy impala , hummer, and i'm sure this list will keep growing...

I didn't know that black wheels with a polished lip ever were in style. Style is about having the newest wheels or having the rarest wheels or having the most ole skool wheels.

i saw them on one of those new chryslers, i have to say they looked sweet. if i end up getting rims for my car, that will be the route i take.
speaking of which, who makes those types of rims?

I think it would eventually...just not anytime soon. Remember when white wheels used to be "in"? But I think black will last longer cuz back in the day, it was either silver or white...so it gets played out fast...now there's silver, black, gunmetal, bronze, chrome, polished, etc etc...you get the drift.

For me it isn't about the latest style (follow the flock, so to speak) but it's about what looks good on the car. Some body styles and colors are complimented by a black rim with polished lip, some aren't.
Remember, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." If you are considering some aftermarket rims, go with what looks good to you. If your choice is part of a trend and you only picked the style to "be in style" you are doing yourself a disservice.

I'm saving up for next years rims. It will be gunmetal spokes with polished lip. It is not about what people are doing, it's about making the car look the way you want it to look. I want the rims to match with the door handle, so I'm staying with silver.

I saw black/polished lip on a ~2000 acura TL non type S today. Looked stoopid -- but that DOESN'T mean I think it's going out of style.
Basically just pick the ones that you like best on your car.
I can't imagine buying rims to please someone else's eyes. The purpose of spending all that money in my opinion is to turn your car into a work of art (with good performance)... something of beauty for you to behold. To fulfill your vision for how you want your car to look.
*Not* so that you can roll up and have a bunch of guys think to themselves "damn, those rims are pimp..."

Define style? If by style you mean "mainstream" or "common", yes they will as new stuff comes out in the future, but to me style means your "personal preferences" then the answer is no. I think if you like it on your car and everyone else thinks it stupid, it doesn't matter b/c you like it, other people don't drive you car so who cares. I like to hear others opinions when I am having trouble making a decision but if I put something on my car and people rip me for it, I am not gonna take it off b/c of the other people. TO EACH HIS OWN!

They could go out of style and then come back again. The wheels I have now are black with polished rims, the first wheels I ever bought, black with polished rims. They were Crager GT's bought from J. C. Penny's back in 1965. Wheel finish be it black, gold, gunmetal, body colored, polished, chromed, big lip, no lip, all have been around for ever. I agree with the others, get what you think looks best on your car, it's unlikely you'll be the first or the last to make that choice.

theres so many choices when it comes to wheels, and its more than just color. i dont think black wheels will get played out for a while now. at least not as fast as the spinning wheels got played out.

ahh spinners. its only a matter of time. i saw a pair on a sky blue wagon today. thats right, pair. two. still had the stockies on the other 2. lol.
im thinking either all black rims or black rims with chrome lip. leaning towards all black.

I love mine and I couldn't care less if they are in style or not...it's about what YOU like who cares about others, let them do what they want...
