new Michelin PS2's -vs- previous S03 PP's
After only 500 miles ... my impression ...
After swapping out the Potenza S03's with 17,000 miles on them for the new Michelin PS2's :
The S03's still had a lot of tread left after 2.5 years .. but I wanted something new.
S03 positive ..
1/ Low speed turn-in seems better and sharper .. high speed seems about the same.
2/ Rear tire profile is better.
PS2 positive ..
1/ Quiet .. significantly less road noise .. hope this continues.
2/ Cornering grip seems much higher ... seems to stick like glue .. and better than the S03's.
3/ Tramlining is history .. gone, dead, and hopefully will stay that way.
4/ 5 lbs per tire lighter .. total of 20 lbs gone.
5/ Overall drive feel seems better .. time will tell.

I like my PS2's. I'm using 265 and 295
I now wish they had more grip. For some reason they feel like they had more grip in the first 50 miles than now. Maybe it's in my head
what bugs me is how big the water passeges are. That's less rubber touching the ground. The tires still grip, but IMO they're not quite what the hype is but maybe I have unrealistic expectations for grip. I'm sure they're probably the best all-round street tire out there and will last a long time though
Next time I'm going to go with either KD's or AO48's and just watch the weather to try not to drive in the rain

Thanks for the review as I'm in the midst of changing out my tires soon. I am thinking of either Toyo T1-r's or Goodyear Eagle f1 gsd3 or something like that. I never understood why everyone offers Toyo tires for our cars. I want to be exposed to other brands as well so I probably won't get the Toyo's again. They seem to be great tires, but what do I know since I've never had anything else on the car. Any suggestions?
i have been running the toyo T1-S for about 1.5 years on my G, and recently put the T1-R's on the front, to replace some worn out T1-S's. they suck. i have developed understeer on a previously neutral car. i will be swapping the entire set out soon for the PS2's, if i can bring myself to spend the money.
on the good side, the R's have a nicer sidewall profile than the S's and they are quieter. the traction is just not there, though.
also, my buddy (jimRHIT from this forum) is running the goodyears, and he is not very happy either. he had the toyo T1-S previously as well.
if you want to go with toyo's, the T1-S's are cheaper, but they actually grip better.
