Was thinking about powdercoating rims gloss black since I am having a hard time finding aftermarket rims in gloss black that I like. But was wondering exactly how it worked. Can i pick what I want powdercoated and leave the rest chrome or does it all have to be powdercoated. Also how does it hold up.

Wheels can't be masked just to powdercoat a part of the wheel. I asked a powdercoater about that because I considered this too a while back. The only thing you could do is get multi-piece wheels and take them apart yourself and drop of the sections you do want powdercoated.
