It may not be the same ones that I'm thinking of. Those sound like open ended nuts like they use on track cars. I saw some that are not open all the way through to the threads, the top of the lug is indented with a hex socket.

I don't think these are actual titanium lugs, they have a stupid coating. I'm sure if you use a air gun it will create rust and corrosion.

It says on the picture titanium color lugs. Not necessarily full Titanium lugs.

The R40 is actually made of cold forge scm-435 (0.35C-1Cr-0.2Mo), it's a very light and strong and durable metal. The taper seat (side that is in contact with the rim) is made of A7075-T6 aluminum with a strong alumite finish.

The NeoChro finish Kics use is a chromate finish. Chromate is a durable finish that is used on many military applications. The Mil-spec standard requires thousands of hours of salt and fog tests including mating and demating cycles. So it's not just for looks, it has functionality also.

Hahah, yes and no. The past year or so I have been researching cadium, chromate, zinc, tin, stainless steel and gold for work. I was looking for alternate solutions for all full line of connectors, sheet metals (coating), screws, hardware, etc. Some of the stuff is still stuck in my head. I had to find out what R40 was made out of first then I could build on it.

Summary: European Union has mandated a directive for July 1, 2006 for all shipments into the country to be RoHS Complaint (DIRECTIVE 2002/95/EC), essentially no more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

I got cheap blue ones on ebay....$30. Tuner style. Forged and super light....they look just fine.

YES....I would rather have Ray's, (especially WORK). But at $145 that's too rich for my blood.
