Whailing tires ... or lack of

My daily driver is a 01' Acura CL Type-S and that thing sounds like stuck pig when it slides.
My Z's stock tires have consistently lacked any noise.
I have tatto'd a couple streets and four wheel drifted MANY corners without making much noise at all.
Generally I drive like a stole the car and ALWAYS with the VDC off.
I like the fact that I don't draw attention with tire screech but will soon wear this set of shoes out.
Do you guys think cold weather, which is what I drive in, plays a role in lack of tire screech or are the stock tires naturally quiet??
I plan on getting S03's, Proxies or whatever it is that everybody is posting about as replacements but am wondering if they are any noisier.

You want noisy tires?
Yokohama AVS Sports hum continually once they get past about 8k miles. At the track, mine would really howl at the limit. Of course, that was at a track, if you are driving like that on the city streets, you are an idiot about to kill someone.
Kumho Ecsta 712 slide everywhere and are loud at the same time. Again, this is at a racetrack where tires are expected to howl.
Four-wheel drifting in the city does not make you a race car driver. It makes you a moron.

Simple answer is yes, it's too cold for the RE040s to make ANY noise right now. Have you noticed how the rears actually spin, not chirp, but spin like mad on the 1>2 shift? I got my Z way back in August when it was still very hot here in Dallas. They would squeal ALL OF THE TIME in the higher temps.
