Anyone have problems w/ F: 245/40-18 R: 255/45-18?
I know this is a fairly common question, but I havn't seen much solid response on this so here it goes:
I'm looking to buy my first set of new treads, and want to keep the stock Performance wheels for now. I'd like to go with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, but they don't come in stock sizes. I've read a couple posts suggesting the use of 245/40-18 for front and 255/45/-18 for rears, and wondering if anyone has used this setup (especially with the GS-D3s), and if they have had any problems with TCS/VDC with the slight difference in sizes.
Stock diameters are F: 25.9" R: 26.7, so 0.8" diff between the two.
The 245/40 and 255/45 setup diameters are F: 25.7" R: 26.9", so 1.3" diff between the two.
Some people claim that might be enough for TCS/VDC, anti-lock brakes, etc to mess up because it assumes certain revolutions per minute in its calculations.
Anyway, I'm not looking for another debate, I'm looking for people who have run this setup already. Does it work well? Any problems?
The other option is going 245/40 up front and 245/45 (stock size) in rear, but then I elinmate the width stagger. This brings it to a 1.0" difference.
Please post your experiences!!! Thanks!!
