Default stock TPS sensors no good?

I went into the gas station this morning and put my tires to 40psi and to my supprise the pressure gage inside my car only said 33psi... to get the final answer I should use a more accurate tool, but short of doing that, has anybody else seen this kind of thing?

7 psi if pretty far off to be "normal". The sensors are supposed to be accurate to ±1 psi. More than likely, it's the gauge you used at the gas station. Was it one built into the hose? Get a high quality dial gauge like the QuickCar Racing gauge - pricy but worth it.

I use a craftsman tire gauge, there is about a 1 # difference between the two, but close enough for safety. 7# is too much.

mine are prety wheel balance they always give +/-1 psi. I love the alarm when the pressure goes too low. save me two times from roll my car on flat tires that really save tires and time you dont have to go around the car checking air pressure when to busy.
