Why don't you just powdercoat the spokes? It'll be like a $500 job if that. Much better then repainting your whole car which would cost about $4,000.

Bad wheel colour and car colour combo btw.

Because I'm in love with those wheels but not the color of the car. Yes, cost is a factor but I don't want to lower my desire due to cost if I can avoid it. Yeah I know, I'm stupid....damn, mom shouldn't have let me ride in the short bus just to make friends.

I don't see anything wrong with the cs + gold combo...but i'm bias, cause i love gold rims :P

edit: I remember seeing daytime pics of that car too in this forum somewhere, but I don't remember where exactly.

I also remmber seeing another SS car with gold volks (i think they were le37s), not bad in my book. I think gold is still best matched with Black and White cars though, red comes next, then blue i think. But blue's got too much of an STi feel to it haha.

I can hear the salesman now... "would you like a car to go with those wheels?"

It definitely looks "different" with the gold wheels on the silver car, but I can't really say that I don't like it or it's ugly. I definitely think they would look better on PPW or black. I'm not sure I would repaint my $30k+ car with anything other than paint matching the original color though. However, I would definitely vote for you to do whatever would make you the most happy.

I agree, it does grow on after hours of staring to the point where reality gets so bored that it leaves your body.

This thread is taking a turn to my liking...

That's the funniest thing I heard in awhile....check out my sig.

BTW: If you think it's hot go for it. Don't paint the car unless you're willing to go custom paint...like a caddy white or something like that.

It's really bold, but the silver on gold can grow on me too. Just make sure you lower the car and give a mean stance.

I don't think that photoshop does any justice for those wheels.. They are nice, on a silver car I would go with Black, Dark grey, or powdercoated.

If you're going to change the color of the whole vehicle, you might as well choose something that nobody else has. To specifically use PPW on a Z that's not that color already would be pointless, since there are already thousands of them on the road.

Personally, I don't think it looks that bad, but I don't think it would necessarily be much of an improvement going on a white or black car. Gold rims are going to look ghettofab either way.

Of course, it's SS instead of CS, but close enough. Here's more pix of that guy's car:

I've always like super white car, my last car was white. I think a snow white car with limo tint would look good with anything and i'm not big on those super exotic colors. Too much bling for me. With that said, I've always wanted to paint my Z black AND blue. The hood, roof, and trunk will be dark blue while the rest of the car black. I tried it on a model car and it looked really good.

In the end, I'm thinking i might just keep the wheels and the CS color. It really is growing on me but so does fungus and thats not good.

Me, and I'm not rich! I don't like the color I have now, don't want to buy or trade for another car, love the wheels,.....painting the car is an option. And you're right, if I had the money, I'll do it in a heartbeat.

You must really love those wheels...
+1, I can't believe you would repaint your car to match the wheels. Now if you were getting deep into the show scene, then I would understand a little bir more. Paint jobs are not cheap, and you definately get what you pay for.
