Default Given these available sizes/offsets.

What would be the optimum running gear. I know I like the look of the +25ish offset guys running around.....but all the debate on offset has convaluted things......especially when everyone seems to be debating different wheel widths. I want the wheels pushed out to the edge of the fender well but still have clearance for the eibach pro drop.

If you had these sizes available, what would you run?

18x8.0 | 18x9.0 | 19x8.0 | 19x9.0

+20 mm | +30 mm | +35 mm | +38 mm | +42 mm | +45 mm

or....would you just scrap it and find a different wheel. Thanks for the opinions.

From what I've heard, 22mm is just too llow for long term use. BUT, I've also heard that the recent threats here about running anything below the stock 30 is a punushable sin...isn't true either. So, if you want to maximize the look (who doesn't), while still being legal, I would run something ni the mid-high 20s.

I wouldn't worry too much about that stuff, I have 90K miles on my Civic and they site waaay farther out that the stock wheels (offset) with NO problems, the difference on the Z is about 1" being moved out, on my civic is was closure to 2-3". I wouldn't panic.

I would run

19"

8"-20mm ET (pushes wheel out 16mm further, 2/3 of an inch)
9"-30mm ET (pushes wheel out 13mm further, 2/3 of an inch)

The size wheel ie. 18 or 19 is purely a personal decision. Do you REALLY love the larger wheel looks? If you aren't married to that look, I'd go with the 18's and afford yourself a little less harsh of a ride...a little more wheel protection...and a better tire selection. As far as offsets go, on the front, I'd run the 8" with either the 20 or 30mm+ along with a 245 tire. The 30+ keeps everything pretty much exactly where they started...but you can stuff a nice 245 on there to add a little touch and minimize understeer. The only reason to go to the 20mm+ over the 30 would be if you need more clearance for your brakes and or really don't like the current stance of your front wheels stock.

On the rears, I'd go with the 9" at 30+. A 275 tire would go on there nicely and afford you the ability to drop the car. In the end on this setup your tire wall will be 18mm closer to the fender. Mind you...this is the "safe" bet...and if it were me and I really liked the wheels you are talking about, I'd try to see if the 20mm offset on the rear would fly. Volks are running 22+ with guys putting 275's on with no problem....and all the hype about exact fitments regarding offsets has much more to do with the front tires and wheel bearings, scrub radius issues, etc... Let us know what you do and how things turn out.
