Question Wheel Locks

Is anyone using wheel locks to protect their rims? I've looked at Kyokugen, Gorilla, McGard. Should I get a full set of 20 or just one for each rim?
Any recommendations?

You only need one per wheel but if you feel more would be better then add more. McGard and Gorilla seem to be the most popular

The wheel locks that have a groove in the top of the lug for the key to match up with tend to strip out after a while. In my experience the locks like with the "key teeth" on the outside, like the gorilla ones, tend to last a lot longer due to the design.

And you only need one per wheel.

I have Gorilla on mine. If you're in a bad neighborhood throw on 2 sets if you have a garage one set should suffice. You never know where you'll end up. My wife's from Pittsburgh...tough high crime area...The Z will never go there but just in case.

While I'm going to get me a set of locks soon, too, they aren't an end all. We used to have a set of tools at our dealership to get the locks off when customers lost theirs. Basically, you had hardened steel tubes that had a taper on the inside and that were shaped like a nut on the closed end. You put the things over the locks, and used a hammer to drive them on until they were tight enough to break free, then you just took them off with a regular lug wrench.

Wheel locks are a nice thing to have, but like everything else, if somebody is determined enough...

BTW, what size lug bolts do we have? 12mm?
