Afermarket Lug NUTS
Well, I should be getting my Work wheels in a few days and was wondering what brands of lug nuts will be reliable, good quality, and good fitment. I have heard about some stripping and/or breaking real easily. I don't want to have to replace my studs, as I am tracking the car and will be changing wheels out very often. I was thinking about going with the muteki ones but, didnt know if they were that great. Do most of the aftermarket lug nuts come with key locks, or would I have to get a seperate set of wheel locks with them? Can anynoe post there experiences with different brands of lugs.

would those fit on work emotion cr? I might get in on the group buy.. more info here: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1855155
Also, is there anything you can tell me about the spline drive or work nuts? thanks
had kyokugens. now have mcgard splines and love them...very hq at much lower cost than rays.
most aftermarkets come with special lugnut tool, which is a theft deterrent, but it is not a "lock" per se. locks are different and extra.

I got the Work S1 2pc. Will these require tuner lugs like volk, work, muteki, and others? I dont want to spend a whole lot just getting lugs. I just need something that fits and doesn't strip or break. Will the cheaper (less than $50) ones like muteki/kyokugens be reliable?
How much are the Mcgard splines Zboy? where did you purchase from?

iirc, i paid like 75 for a full, closed-end set with two lug tools.

I dont mind paying around 75 or those mcgards. But the Volks and work lugs i have seen are around 100+. I would rather not pay for something just bacause of the name on the lug nut. I dont want the open end ones b/c of water/rust issues. Also, the $30-50 ones seem cheap and could possibly strip, break, and cause rust issues. So, I am either going to go with the black Mcgards (closed ends), or just shell out the money for the Volks.
I have the Skunk-2 Duraluminum lug nuts on my 350Z racecar, they weight virtually nothing (feels like a small piece of plastic in your palm). They have been very durable and I have had no problems with them. They also come in a nice hard anodized finish. They are expensive and only come in sets of 16. Check out their website.

[QUOTE=002-M-P]You can also, buy them individually here. I still want to know actual weights of these and the McGards though.
I can weight one next week at work and post it, maybe a couple of ounces. Litterly feels like a piece of paper in you palm. I dont know if McGuard is making anything new but last time I checked most of their stuff was steeor or chromely and weighted a tone.

Ok thanks.
Stock weighs about 2.1 oz each
Muteki lugs weigh 1.2 oz each
Zenki lugs weigh 0.9 oz each
Rays lugs weigh 0.8 oz each
Those are the weights I have found.
