Thumbs up It's all about the Avon Tech M550s!!!

I just drove on some fairly icy roads this morning with my Z, and I must say that the Avon Techs are some great tires! Of course having a manual T helps with winter driving, but the tires made a huge difference. The Avon Tech M550 is an all season tire, but its ratings on Tirerack.com are superior. And the plus side is that they are affordable.

These tires are by no means a substitute for Blizzaks, but since it's mostly dry in my state, I don't have to worry about wearing out these tires sooner than I would snow tires.

Just wanted to give Avon some props!

How are those tires in the summer I'am in lower half of texas it doesnt snow so I need a good summer tire but something that will do well when I travel to the upper parts of texas when it snows during the winter.

I being looking at them on tirerack and the reviews are really high but I was concern that they would be lacking during the summer sprited driving.

For all-season tires, in my opinion the Avons perform well in summer/dry weather. I had on Potenza RE040 last summer and quite honestly I can't tell a huge difference. But obviously performance/track tires are different than a/s.

Don't get me wrong, driving like an SUV will get you in trouble in the snow, but if you're used to snow/rain driving, these seem to be holding up very well. I'm just not going to attempt driving in 2' of snow
