Default Help!!! Wheel hop

I have just purchase an 04 350Z, stk car with 17 inch rims on it. I have serious wheel hop problems. I can be driving along in first and accelerate hard and when the tires start to spin they will hop. Also any slight slip when taking off will lead to wheel hop or if driving and accelerating in the rain. I took the car to the dealer and they checked the car over and said it is ok. I even get hop with the TCS on or off.

I have read many posts on the subject and am wondering what the solution is, other than driving like a granny. Has anyone had wheel hop this bad and corrected it with a single cost effective mod?

THanks for any advise in advance
chow for now

Mine does the same thing. Doesn't matter how I feather the clutch or how slowly I get on the throttle, psi... if the tires break traction, they're hopping - wet/dry whatever.

I'm currently running 18" Rays with 275 Dunlop Race's in the rear. I had the stock 245 Mich's on the car forever, and never had a prob with hopping.

The Dunlops are super sticky compared to the OE, so the extra traction is obviosly causing the problem for me. I think it's hopping because the bushings are too compliant/soft for the xtra grip.

Thinking about trying the Nismo bushings on the traction and camber arms or the Kinetix arms. Not sure which or if either would eliminate the problem.

Has anyone tried these setups to eliminate wheel hop?

There are plenty of wheel hop suggestions in drag racing. Hop occurs when the tires are biting for traction, but you are not giving the car enough power to spin the tires. Hit the throttle hard for 2.0 second 60-foot times.
