Default Tire Recommendations

I was wondering what type of tires you guys have your wheels wrapped in. I have got sick of these Sh!tenza's and the loud roar / feathering they have. I have used the Dunlop Direzza's on the rear and they did not last that long. The dirrezza's look good but they did not have anything for the fronts in 18's only the rear. My Wheels are 18x8 in the front and 18x9 rear so the stock 18's were used. I'm looking some some reliable tires that don't feather bad or have that loud roar the Bridgestones have even though the feathering may not go away with just tires.....

I was just looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport tires as a set and have seen alot of hi-line cars with these. Anyone has any experience with this Michelin tire brand.

Would not mind having some nismo wheels like you . I saw the thread for the nismo graphics but would not look good without the wheels.

i woudld think they're pretty good in the rain. Not really a street tire, but a friend of mines raced on Kumho Victoracers at a Solo1 race in the heavy showers, menacing at +140 on the straightaways, and +120mph on the sweepers cutting through puddles with no mercy...so I'd gather than some of the tread design engineering would go to their street tires.

the Khumo Ecsta SPT is a tire that is unique to the Tirerack. It has a very high wear rating for a Y or W speed rated tire. It is completely different from the Supra 712. I have 245/40/18's and 275/40/18's on 8.5 and 9.5 wheels. One thing that makes these tires special is that they are considerably lighter than the stock tires, 3 or 4 pounds per tire lighter than stock. In fact, the 275's on my car are lighter than the 245/45/18's they replaced. So far I am extremely impressed with these tires. Great stick, wet and dry, great price, long wear. Check them out, I think you will be impressed.

there are other tires out there.. how many miles are you looking to get out of them?

How much you willing to spend? I have used the following tires and these are the ones I recommend:

Kumho MX
Yokohama Neova
Falken Azenis RT-615
Falken Fk Beta-451
Toyo T1-S
Toyo T1-R
Bridgestone KDW2
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
Michelin Pilot Exalto

(the rest I have are r-compound tires)...

^ you can still find some left over T1-S around, but yes, you are correct, the T1-Rs are here to replace the T1-S

Kumho Ecsta ASX.

On my '05 Track, even in the rain that I must drive in during the winter, they have *outstanding* (and I do mean OUTSTANDING) grip!

Michelin PS2 is a great tire! After 10,000 miles they still look good with plenty of tread remaining.
