Since lowering my ZR about 1.25", I 've been turned away from 2 alignment shops who won't even try putting it on the ramps, even w/ long-run 2"x10" boards. After dropping, I was so far out of alignment and desperate, I went to a place that had an old-fashioned alignment pit and got charged almost $200. It's time to align again and I don't want to spend another $200. Any advice or recommendations would really be appreciated. I'm in Tucson, AZ. Thanks.

Is that where you went before? None of the "cheap" places that I know of could do my car with the coilovers on. They charged me $140 which is a lot for a car without hardly any stock adjustment.

 

1nate7-The places that wouldn't do it were the places I used before and, yep, they were cheap-about $50. The $200 place was new to me-recommended because they have a pit and thus don't need ramps. Did you get your $140 price in Tucson?

 

Yes. They really know what they are doing there and charge accordingly. Do you have any aftermarket adjustments (a-arms, camber/toe bolts, etc.)?

 

No. Tanabe Sustec Pro-SOC Type I coilovers, Stillen sway bars f&r w/ Prothane bushings, GT-Spec f&r frame braces, Enkei RPO3 9"f, 10"r, kumho 245/40 front and 275/40 rear. The rear frame braces are slotted so as to allow camber adjustment.

 

Sounds like I should give them a try. I realize the mods make alignment more expensive. Even @ $140, I save $60 over the last shop's price. Thanks for the information.
